I've probably got a hundred of these in the past few days:

"hey its me, my old address dont work at time. i dont know why?!
in the last days ive got some mails. i' think thaz your mails but im
not sure!

plz read and check ...
cyaaaaaaa"

And the Paris/Nicole Ritchie one too....

:lol

Now I know whose email list I belong to. This morning, I see tons of people getting to work and opening that link and bam! the worm takes over.

They are hosed.

I keep getting one from "aol" it simply says: "your password information attached" and then there is an attachement.
:lol Like I'm gonna open that up! haha!

I don't even have aol. and when i did, 5 years ago, i did not have this email addy.

another bullshit one I've gotten 3 times this month is form "ebay" saying that my acount has been forzen untill I "update my credit card & verify info, otherwise account will be permanetly closed if not completed in 24 hours" :rolleyes yeaaaahhhhhhh riiiight.
the link even brings you to a sign in page that looks remarkably like ebay's.

I know the FBI computer crimes division is going after these folks that do the ebay, paypal etc spoofs. They need to shut that down it's ugly. The first charges and convictions for spamming are just now starting to go down. If it comes from outside USA or Europe it's a lot harder to stop.

Last week we had a serie of e-mail form the "CIA" or the "FBI" saying something like "we have logged your IP on more than 30 forbidden websites, please open the attached log and provide us with an explanation. Visiting those websites is a crime."

:lol I didn't know that there are "forbidden" websites monitored by the CIA and FBI :p, of course if you look at the message header the origin of the e-mails is nowhere close to the US.

I've started using SpamFighter a month ago and I must say it's much better than my previous SPAM filter(s), from 5 different accounts I usually get between 30 and 100 SPAM emails a day. Spamfighter misses one or two every couple of days and I haven't seen a false positive yet. So if you can't switch away from Outlook Spamfighter might be worth a try.

Seriously.

I can't use my RR account at all because all I get is Spam. And I never used that address online for anything. With gmail...nada. And if that account starts getting them, I have 100 invites I can give myself to get a new addy. :lol

I accidentally mistyped the dictionary.com address. I was directed to a site thaat looked similar and once I clicked on "search for word" it was all downhill from there.

I got something pretty nasty on my PC when I went out searching for a recipe ... I got onto some weird-assed looking sites.

At least I think that's what happened. :fro
