- Pop is a bad fit for the way the league is moving right now.
- Toronto, the Lakers and The Bucks won the last 3 titles. What they have in common? They were HUGE!!! they had size from 1 to 5 and wherever they were not bigger, they were stronger or faster.
- Pop still wants to play small when we have a big roster for every position.
- Our players have a tendency to drive to defenses instead of picking an open spot to score. This is bad coaching. The best players in the league torture defenses from spots they can get and score. CP3, Durant, Nephew, Tatum, AD, Jokic and others, pick spots and dare defenses to stop them.
- This team like, last year is already being destroyed by an old coach unable to play 5 players capable of enforcing their will.
- Jock and Primo would solve some of the glaring problems we have.
- We need to play big, fast and strong. We need pick and pop shooters, strong post players and drivers that can score from mid range if needed.
- The rotation should be: Murray - Johnson - Doug - Jock - Poeltl / White - Primo - Walker - Vassell - Keita( to replace either Jock or Poeltl)
- The idea is to keep two big/long players + two shooters + 1 slasher all the time.
- The first move should be to make Pop the coach with more wins and let him go.
- We have the talent to win but Pop will not allow it to become our reality.

I hate to see Drew and Diop playing when we have Thad who needs to prove himself worth a first pick or Landale that can shoot 3. We can try at least a couple of minutes with Thad or Landale with Poeltl at the same time with shooters when other teams are playing big.
Also Poeltl, Keldon and Lonnie get punished in the bench too often.
Poeltl only played 22min against the Pacers which was a shame when he needed another big one with him.

Watch Thad get a buy out because “he’s been a great vet for the young guys, we owed it to him”

Been lurking last few seasons but i`m back cause I like this team and are fun to watch. No expectations, just I know that I won`t have to suffer with DDR
Let us address these comments....
- Pop is a bad fit for the way the league is moving right now.
- Which is what? Old superstars aging out trying to make super teams to try and taste glory? The league has a who is next problem. There is no LBJ. Zion is not it, and Giannis is in a small market
- Toronto, the Lakers and The Bucks won the last 3 titles. What they have in common? They were HUGE!!! they had size from 1 to 5 and wherever they were not bigger, they were stronger or faster.
- No they had the 3 best superstars in the league. Giannis, KL, and LBJ. And a run down and injured GSW team. They ain`t big...
- Players are young and no where near as talented as those mentioned. Once again no superstar...
- This team like, last year is already being destroyed by an old coach unable to play 5 players capable of enforcing their will.
- This is nothing like last year. Do you have real expectations for this team that lacks talent, and is really young? Expecting them to win more than 30 games is not real.
- Jock and Primo would solve some of the glaring problems we have.
- What evidence do you have to support this? Pre season? I remember all the posts about Lonnie being this and well not so. Getting better but not changing the franchise by any means
- We need to play big, fast and strong. We need pick and pop shooters, strong post players and drivers that can score from mid range if needed.
- So does over half the league. You have some lying around no one knows about or will give away for free?
- The rotation should be: Murray - Johnson - Doug - Jock - Poeltl / White - Primo - Walker - Vassell - Keita( to replace either Jock or Poeltl)
- The idea is to keep two big/long players + two shooters + 1 slasher all the time.
- The first move should be to make Pop the coach with more wins and let him go.
- You needed to accept this years ago he will leave on his own terms and not in the middle of the season. It will be the end of next year, maybe this year.
- We have the talent to win but Pop will not allow it to become our reality.[/QUOTE]
- No we don`t. They are middle of the league until we get our superstar Devin Booker. We have no one who can just dominate a game

Spurs need to play big, fast, and strong? Shit, and here all this time I thought they were better off going short, slow, and weak.

He is actually working out quite well in Chicago.

he's got the job just cause he's a spurs legend. Any serious team would fire his ass long ago. One of the worst coaches in the NBA for the past 5 years.

You have Vassell at PF. In your big, strong lineup. You do not seem familiar with the Spurs players.
Landale at PF is something to ponder tho. He does seem to move well and his 3pt shot looks legit. Could be worth a try.
I would try Murray - Vassell - McDermott - Landale - Poeltl just to watch it for a while, and see how it worked. The size would be there, defense at the guard positions would be good, and the 3pt threat would be there. The question is whether they would "click" together.
For the bench, oh, White - Walker - Keldon - Diop - Young. Jones, Forbes & Eubanks in spots. Perhaps.
Primo is in competition with Vassell, Walker and White. He has to get good enough to replace one of them.

- Your rotations are even better.
- The essence is there: Play with size, shooting, speed, slashing
- Pop has been bad for longer than we all could notice.

Lol playing big. Those teams won the title because they had a top 2 or 3 player leading them. And the last two titles are highly suspect IMHO with 2019 being another due to the Warriors injuries
Sorry OP but you don't go big for the hell of it. Giannis/LeBron/Kawhi ain't walking thru that door

Pop has been coaching for his own glory since 2018. He's had a more destructive effect on the Spurs then what Kobe had on the Lakers from '13-'16. Lakers were at least able to get rid of Kobe after 3 years while the Spurs are still stuck with Pop for another few years and maybe longer.

With this roster we are going to lose a lot. No matter who is the coach, with the amount of losses we will see this year, people will be complaining. Overplaying Forbes is going to be annoying, but it's Pop the GM I have bigger questions about.

ever since 2014 Pop is just too full of himself. Shooting a low volume of 3s while relying on midrange shots, just cause he doesn't like the 3-point shot. Always having some G-League scrub on the team that he thinks he can turn into an NBA player. Sending every rookie to the G-League so he can get "over himself". Chasing his record instead of tanking to get a high pick. I could go on and on.
As much as he preaches the "getting over yourself" bullshit, I wish a reporter had the guts to ask him when he will get over himself, but they would probably get fired immediately. It's no wonder that every player who leaves this franchise looks better on another team.

Spurs a glutted with guards and people want to go bigger? Spurs have one true pf, Young. Landale might be able to play it against big lineups. Spurs don't have enough big man shooters to make johnson at the 3 to work.

lmao, the raptors and bucks would've been swept by the warriors and nets without injuries
what coach would lead this team to the playoffs? do you even want playoffs? which coach relaibley teaches tplayers to shoot better than the spurs staff. Yall fuckers want a less than one season rebuild. Enjoy the tank you fucks, you don't have an option here.
