Copa del Rey + Mickey Mouse Bubble Ring + 1 goal in a farmers league = Ballon D'or :lol

Harden forever carried by the media. Doesn't matter when you read this.

Messi has more assists than Lewandowski, but definitely the Copa América, where Messi was champion with Argentina, best player and made most goals was what made the difference. Otherwise Messi only won a Copa de Rey, vs the League, German Supercup and European Supercup that Lewandowski won in 2020/2021.

I guess the performance in PSG will be subject for next year Ballon d’Or votations.

I forgot Lewandowski also won the 2020 FIFA World Club Champion with Bayern. I guess those are minor titles to the Champions League, European, Copa America or the World Cup.

The feeling is Lewandowski got robbed, but it was perhaps more deserving than when Modric got the Ballon d’Or.

Lewa deserves it for 2020 no argument, and I’d have no problem if he’d win it this year as well. But Messi winning the Copa really sealed it and Lewa not winning cl or getting Poland out of the group stage.

So Lionel Harden with 1 goal in 7 farmer league games, dragging his corpse up and down the pitch, barely scoring and doing even less pressing, is better than Lewandovski right now? :lmao

Lewandoski has been underrated, but we're talking about completely different players and what they bring to the game.

Lewa is a Batistuta type of player (somebody that never won this either, btw). He's all aces as a goalscorer, but can't create for anybody else.

I wouldn't have a problem if Missi didn't win it this year, he's clearly slowing down and towards the end of his career. But for somebody that's been dinged so bad for not winning with his national team, the fact that he won the 2nd most difficult tournament in the world in after the world cup (Copa America) does give him some merit, tbh...

^ ElNono you are illustrating the problem with this award. Which we all likely agree. Messi has won it X amount of times and now he's crossed off an accomplishment, which based on legacy makes him the winner by default. Let's be honest what did Lewandowski need to do to win? Lead Poland to the Final? Is it really necessary for Messi to win for the 8th, 10th, 15th time? There are other great players on this planet whom are also setting records. For a global game, it truly shocks me how elitist buddy buddy this sport often is.

For the record I didn't say Lewandowski was better 3-5 years ago. IMO the players were on the same level. The last 2 seasons has been different.

Lewa needs to win a meaningful trophy. Hence why he should’ve gotten one in 2020. This year Poland came dead last in the group stage and Bayern didn’t even get past the quarters. This is the problem with being in a farmers league and same issue Messi will have moving forward. It will be CL/WC or bust now as league titles in one horse leagues won’t matter

The criteria has always been the same: give the award to whomever has had the best individual calendar year. Messi in 2010 had clearly the best individual performance.

The only time something was changed was when they postponed the voting to see if Sidenaldo didn't choke the qualification to the WC so that they could give the award to him.

Iirc 97 was the first year non-europeans became eligible, otherwise pele and maradona would have more than zero combined. Just one of many ways Europeans screwed over south American players

I find all the butthurt over this amusing, as if it's the first time a voter based sports award was given to the "wrong" player. Messi asking for Lewandowski to get it last year (which was objectively a better year than this one for him) makes it even better.

Not at all, Messi has still been good in CL. Juventus are one position behind what they were last year since Ronaldo left. Still moving forward in CL as well.

Ronaldo got knocked out by a farmers team, never ever forget. United were title challengers last year and took ten steps backward with Ronaldo this year. Ronaldo leaves and Madrid win just as many la liga titles as they do during his time there (although yes they’d rather take CL).

Ronaldo is the king of empty stats. He plays only for himself while his team suffers. United are down in nearly ever metric compared to last season.

Serie a is a farmers league as well. United must feel horrible giving 500,000 a week to somebody who made them much worse overall. I mean, imagine having to BENCH a player because you’re scared he’ll lead to getting destroyed. Ronaldo has had more humiliations this season alone than Messi has had in the last 3. I mean watford 4-1 and Liverpool were all time legendary lows for united.

Barca has had some horrible lows in CL, but that was once a year as terrible as it was. United have been humiliated beyond recognition 4 times already to the point they had to bench Ronaldo just to save face.

Bet you’re feeling pretty dumb right now.

Bolied down :

1 goal in 9 farmers league games :lmao

According to what? :lol French teams have done a lot better than Italian ones in Champions League recently.

Your boy got eliminated by Lyon a a CL ago.

Seriously, Ronaldo signed with Juventus because Juve thought they could bring him a CL title. Instead they went from 2 finals in 3 years in CL to not getting knocked out by teams far worse than your bayerns and Liverpools.

And then bynodumbass will say “dur dur Ronaldo scored all the goals against Ajax” but when Messi does the same thing against psg you’ll never hear the end of it from him.

Ronaldo’s turning his back in that FK in CL literally most his team the entire tie. Far worse than any one moment Messi had in CL in recent years in regards to his teams detriment.

Imagine winning the ballon d'or for stat-padding against bottom of the barrel teams like Bolivia and Ecuador and then, doing jack shit in the semi-final and final :lmao

And who did Lewa beat again? Ronaldo is the ultimate stat padder this year, scored against worse teams in average than Messi has. Penaldo is the ultimate flat track bully this year.

It’s a shame, because we have spent years shit talking each other in this forum but deep down there is probably a good conversation to be had about these two players.

Maybe one day we will get there.

Bynumite has to be very happy Messi didn't end up in City, tbh. He would be tearing shit up under his preffered tiki taka style on a league where everyone plays an offensive minded football, leaving a lot of holes in the back.

City would be the undisputed favourite to win the PL, would be candidates alongside Bayern for the CL, and Messi would be embarrassing Ronaldo in the derby. :lol

Midgetfans creating false narratives and now trying to prop the french farmers league into something that it's not :lmao

This is not my opinion, these are facts and numbers. French farmers league is nowhere near elite and midget still can't act like somebody over there :lmao

You know he would have cried about and simply said “well city won the league before Messi anyway”

Even though Ronaldo is leading united to some historical lows this season much like he did with Juventus and their lowest trophy haul in over a decade.

The reality is Penaldo himself keeps crying that Messi owns him in ballon d’or that he turns in DurBeta on Instagram :lmao

And yet Messi is performing in CL. If it had been the other way around where Messi was tearing it up in the league but doing poor in CL you’d be posting moronic emojis about it as well.

FAP :lmao

How much of a blind midget nuthugger do you gotta be to even attempt to argue French farmers league>>>>> Serie A? :lmao Even when the numbers clearly state otherwise :lmao

I don't care if 2 french teams made it to the CL semis, when the other 18 teams in the league are still shit tier.

Your man is a walking corpse with 1 goal in 9 games against weak competition. I know you're having a hard time accepting that fact, but father time catches up to us all at some point. That's just the way it is, FAP.

Will you admit Messi looks good in CL, which is more important than the league?

So let me get your reasoning. Messi stat pads vs shitty teams > French league is full of shitty teams > Messi does better in CL than the French League. Neat logic son.
