Pop says he needs 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 time before he sees the court. That’s not happening until most or all of the current protocol players return.

I see absolutely no reason to throw him into the mix and I think we all should have a good appreciation for how conservative our medical staff is. Jok, KBD, Primo, Weiskamp etc can play material minutes. It’s all upside in that regard.

What happens when one of the players not on protocol tests positive before the game? Do they hide it? What about the CDC latest "SCIENTIFIC' quarantine policy that only requires 5 days? Is the NBA going to conform to that? When a well-conditioned athlete is asymtomatic after contracting the disease, how badly does it affect his health with regard to playing in games? Probably no data on that, but the Spurs kept DJ out for a while, and then he came back with a great first game. Not affected???

Murray didn't go straight from the COVID list to playing. He "reconditioned" for two games first. Even though Murray was likely fine from a normal perspective, game shape is not easy to maintain if you miss a week like he did.

As far as I know, players don't get tested immediately before the game, especially if they're already vaccinated. They get tested periodically if there's not a concern for close contact, but you'd think that would be several hours before. Games has been postponed because guys have tested positive on game day. They likely do rapid tests for the rest of the players, and if they guys are negative, they let them play. Even if they'll eventually be infected, it doesn't happen immediately, so there's not a huge risk.

If they’re vaxed, they can resume team activities with masks after 5 days and negative tests. Used to be 10 days, no matter what.
