Beaten by Nevada 38-35. I guess Nevada's D was stronger than USC's and that made the difference huh. (Insert gay laughing emoticon here.)

Fresno is still a good team with a good QB. A lot of good teams had tough games aginst inferior opponents this week. See Texas, Notre Dame, Miami, and LSU.

It has always been like that the past 3 or 4 years. So that doesn't mean shit.

Ohhhhhhhh Kayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
I guess any team that has a football program qualifies per your criteria. :lol

Let me put it into easier terms to understand. It's still a quality win against a ranked opponent. Better?
I know you Longhorn fans are desperate to draw attention away from the A&M game. But this isn't the way to do it.

Actually, I enjoyed having the ag game when UT did.
1) It all but ensures that UT won't overlook CO & should smash them.
2) UT scored 40pts in their worst game of the season. Hmmm, 40pts.
3) Look at what happened the (2) times UT won by less than 3 TDs. Their next (2) games they DESTROYED whoever they played.
4) ags did what they did with a GUTSY & talented QB that ran with abandon. USC & CO don't have that type of QB so the rushing threat has to come from the RBs which UT has faired well against in every other game.
Sucks to be a Horns hater huh? :lol

Not a Horns hater. My Arizona Wildcats are in the Pac 10, so I naturally pull for the Pac 10 teams. Except for ASU.
It really isn't going to affect me one way or the other to see UT or USC win the Championship. I'd just rather see USC win it again. From what I've seen from both teams, I just don't think UT can hang with USC when both teams are playing their best.

Well, I'd love to see UT v USC myself.
I hope to go to LA & try and scalp a ticket for under $500.
Not likely though. eBay has the cheap seats @ $1100-1200 a pair last week.

So all those teams lost this week. It's one thing to struggle and have your head up your ass, but the win is all that matters. Fresno state did not win, so I think comparing their loss to Nevada to Texas' win over A&M is a little bit ridiculous.

Losing to La Tech 33-22 at home. Wow what a proud win for the trojans.

whatever, say all you want now. a win is a win. especially when you now have 33 in a row.
for some reason fresno state always seems to do this at the end of the season. it's like another team takes their place. tonight, they lost because of turnovers. something like 5 for 30 of la tech's points. no excuse for that. but maybe 10% would be because of a close heartbreaking loss to the trojans and that bowl bid they already accepted a couple weeks ago.

Bullshit. Your whole post. They are(were) obviously overrated. I'm not saying that USC is bad, they definitely deserve their #1 ranking, but that win was not as special as people thought. A win is a win is a win is a win. Only when you want to use that as your argument though, right?

okay, you can consider it bs if you want. i only gave an excuse for 10%. the other 90% was all their horrible doing. every year fresno state claws its way up and then explodes. too bad the season isn't shorter for them. yeah, 16 was too high (but still nothing compared to the fall tennessee has taken from 3). they're definitely not as good as alot of people thought. but they're far from the worst team.
for me, the reason that win was so special was reggie bush's performance. it certainly wasn't usc's whole performance that i thought was special. we did a number of things wrong that i think you'll see corrected.
a win is a win (especially when the other team is playing as if it's the only game of their season, see a&m/stanford)... but if you asked me if it was a special win? i would still say yes... because of reggie bush.

but USC played Fresno and therefore they played a good team!

Well then, that pretty much makes this whole thread pointless doesn't it. Because the only people who tried to make a big deal out of that game were Longhorn fans. For the most part USC proponents were just trying to put-away the notion that it proved they weren't the #1 team. Now you're trying to make it sound as though it was the USC fans were making it a big deal. Sorry, but it was the other way around.

Funny how Horns haters jump ship like rats when the ship is....err, has gone down.
I LOVE IT how they show their true colors on being fair weather fans. :lol

USC hopalongs were trying to say that Fresno was tougher than we thought and that it was a great performance by both teams. My point is that Fresno was highly overrated, and their win was no better than Texas' win over A&M. Also for that No D game to garner Reggie Bush so much support for the heisman is crazy. The defense was nonexsistent. Give him wide open field to run and hell yeah he's gonna end up with some yardage. It was fun to watch, but a glaring example of USC's porous D.

"nooo no no...fresno is a worse team at the end of the season, therefore, because they were a good team at the beginning, and because Reggie had a shitload of yards against them, they still count as a good team!"
