That's right.. no need to send your email address to every spammer in the world and risk losing all your cyber-friends.
Yesterday we were at the church working on the Christmas program when I heard a loud meowing. I thought maybe a cat got stuck on the roof or something. When I found the source, it was a large kitten just looking for a home. A small kid from the apartments across the street came over and told me that they rescued the kitten from an abusive situation, then dropped it off at the church, hoping someone would take it.
With Ruth getting ready to work from home, we really don't want another pet to worry about. So we hope someone here has a soft spot for a kitten. It's a couple months old, it seems, mostly grayish white with faint tabby striping, and then a black and gray striped tail. It's a bit on the skittish side, so it must have been mistreated a bit, but it's friendly once it gets to know you.
I don't have my camera handy, so I'll post a picture tomorrow.

i'll pet them. i'll be nice.

unless they can get along with dogs.
cuz my girls will keep any cat in line...or worst case, just eat the cat.

Is it male or female?
Long or short hair?
Age? 2 or 3 months? Matters with a skittish female.
Link a pic.
I just put my oldest cat, a male, very rare black Himalayan to sleep last Monday afternoon due to old age and a bad liver. I'm not saying I want a new kitty, not by any stretch. I just know good kitty people.
Have you ever heard the saying "Spare the rod....and just shoot the f**ker in the head"?

Artist: Ted Nugent Lyrics
Song: Cat Scratch Fever Lyrics
Well I don't know where they come from
But they sure do come
I hope they comin' for me
And I don't know how they do it
But they sure do it good
I hope they doin' it for free
They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever
The first time that I got it
I was just ten years old
I got it from some kitty next foor
I went and see the Dr. and
He gave me the cure
I think I got it some more
They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever
It's nothin dangerous
I feel no pain
I've got to ch-ch-change
You know you got it when you're going insane
It makes a grown man cryin' cryin'
Won't you make my bed
I make the pussy purr with
The stroke of my hand
They know they gettin' it from me
They know just where to go
When they need their lovin man
They know I do it for free
They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever

It's a male.
It's skittish due to the mistreatment it had before (reportedly), but it seems to be doing better now. We also have an energetic toy poodle that seems to think we brought home a new toy for him to play with. The kitten tolerates/ignores the dog pretty well already.

That's great that it's a male and tolerating the dog. Very positive sign. Still wish to see the little guy. Can you post a pic soon?
Ooops, soory to the she-girl poster above. I didn't realize you was a fem.

Your kitty has Siamese in him. Let me show his pictures around. If I get a taker, I'll let you know.

I think that it's yours now.
Seems to have settled in.
And, if it isn't scratching the men in the house, then it's unlikely that it was abused.

More probably Burmese (the ears aren't pointy-enough).
But to me, he looks like an Australian Mist. Which is a worry, because those things should be rare in America (and therefore expensive).

It's probably just a tabby-siamese mix.
I put up some "You want a kitten?" posters on the mailboxes in our neighborhood yesterday. This morning I get a call from the Live Oak police telling me that it isn't allowed.

(And it was very tasty, thank you)
Hey, that wasn't me, that was the voices in my head.
My daughter in law says she wants it. The only problem is now Ruth has become attached to it.
