I don't think he'll ever be good enough to be a backup PG on a playoff team. He can be the backup on scrub teams like ours is now or a third stringer on good teams.

Yeah, I'd love to see Murray either rise his % up, or his attempts per game, but it's fine for now the way it is; Vassell has disappointed me throughout the season, tbh. I've been hearing he's playing better recently, but I just don't see it on the court consistently when I watch the games, nevermind his shooting splits. Lonnie, well, not much to be said. Could hardly be having a worse season than this overall, and I like the guy :lol

I don't think Keldon's shooting is sustainable at all, tbh. He can't create a 3 to save his life, the % is much inflated by open looks he gets on the wing. Those are great when you get them, but in a playoff setting? Good luck with that.... He'll crater back to earth. I still don't see him as a solution of any kind at PF, I'm anxious to see how the FO addresses the issue this off-season.

Yeah, for sure. The real question is how will the Spurs get that Duncan/Drob... It's not looking like they'll actually tank this season, much less the next one, with a year less on DJ's bargain of a deal. There's a certain "window" for struggling teams, too, and the Spurs' might be closing sooner than we think. Sink or swim, pick the poison, and do something about it.

What does he bring that can't be replaced by vet min guys? He was a DPOY in college but that's hardly translated to the NBA thus far, and if defense is your main selling point, and you're an undersized guard, you gotta be lockdown to survive... And without an average 3 ball at the least, even that is uncertain. Looking at someone like GPII, he's an even better defender, but even he wouldn't be able to stick around if he wasn't good at other things. I see too many holes in his game to stick, the kind that aren't easily fixed.

I'll be rooting for him, but no tears shed if he's cut or traded come training camp, tbh.

I don't understand why there isn't even an attempt to set a screen so that DjM has a better matchup. He is unable to beat players consistently and usually does a pull up mid-jumper. That airball in OT1 is terrible.

IMO, he’s trying to do much. If he focused on imitating the McDermott role for now, he’d excel. I mean, he did excel when doing that early in the season. Now, sometimes he thinks he’s Kobe and will pull up after getting zero separation because he has no first step.

I think it’s sophomore slump finding the balance between his way and Pop’s coaching. That’s where Lonnie struggle but seems to be doing a better job the last four games, Lonnie that is. Devin is a more natural player than Lonnie in both sides of the court. I’m sure he’ll get over the hump. Devin needs to put on muscle weight though. Kuzma was just going through our guys last night. And Devin needs to learn to take some charges like D-White did, as part of his defensive growth. I still think Devin will be that player to score 20+guy alongside Murray. I’m not worried about him.

Keldon will be the 20+ ppg guy next year. His scoring around the rim is back to the way it used to be. Combine that with his current 3pt shooting and any offseason work… he’s getting there. He’s only four points off of it right now. Several more 30 pt games and he could get there this season.

Finally, the Wizards ran out of magic and we got the win. Still, I am so sick of us not fouling and only giving up 2 at the most. We always give up the 3 attempt, and so many times it has come back to bite us.

It was a helluva game, felt like a playoff game.

Hope all this stuff with Murray is just part of the learning process. Kinda can't blame him for trying to do too much now that he's an all-star. Maybe some humble pie would be good.

He did hit a huge 3 pointer to get to OT after all the mistakes but yeah he’s going to start to become a focal point for opposing teams. He’s never really gotten double teamed in his career in the NBA, he will figure it out though. Keldon is going to benefit from this the most. This is what he said last night.

But this is why it's important to have an all-star caliber player on the team.... so he can help others be better. You are 100% right that KJ will benefit. If they are smart players they will take full advantage. This is certainly an critical step in becoming a good team.
