How is that one Spurm?

Very good... I'd rate Mezmerize a little higher, since Hypnotize doesn't really have that go-to song (like "BYOB") that I can just listen to over and over. But I'm just as addicted to it right now as I was the first week I had Mezmerize. Definitely on the same level.... Which is good since they're meant to be a double album anyway (the packaging is even designed so you can connect the two CD cases).

That Coldplay album is fucking horrible. The next asshole that tries to compare Coldplay to Radiohead will get a foot in the ass. I like their first 2 albums, but that one is just bad. Maybe Gwenyth will hurt him and run away with his child. Bitterness makes for better music.

Good choice...I think that's the most underrated Beatles album ever. I can understand why as even the Beatles themselves hated making it. But I love all the songs on there.

I love the production on it and the live in the studio feel, and, contrary to what Paul McCartney thinks, Phil Spector made that album into the great album it is.

Wu Tang's not exactly my cup of tea but I do fancy 2pac.

I'll make you a deal though, you listen to every song on Keith Urban's Be Here album and I'll listen to an album of your choice.

Invisible Touch (Atlantic; 1986) is the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility, at the same time it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceeding three albums. It has a resonance that keeps coming back at the listener, and the music is so beautiful that it's almost impossible to shake off because every song makes some connection about the unknown or the spaces between people ("Invisible Touch"), questioning authoritative control whether by domineering lovers or by government ("Land of Confusion") or by meaningles repitition ("Tonight Tonight Tonight"). All in all it ranks with the finest rock 'n' roll achievements of the decade and the mastermind behind this album, along of course with the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins, and Rutherford, is Hugh Padgham, who has never found as clear and crisp and modern a sound as this. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument.

Genesis is still the best, and most exciting, band to come out of England in the 1980's.

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000002IJ2.01._PE8_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpgI prefer Duke myself, but that and Invisible Touch bookend one of the better runs of pop albums in recent memory. Three Sides Live is a great snapshot of the Duke-Abacab years if you haven't heard it. An incredibly tight band live for the music they played, and Phil playing drums at the same time with Chester Thompson is awesome.
