Denver is still fighting for playoff positioning and Jokic has been playing like a man possessed, so this will not be an easy game by any means.

Murray, Landale, Langford and McDermott all ruled out for the Spurs.

BUT...if the Spurs manage to pull off a crazy win and the Suns burn the Lakers later, the play-in is secured.

Come on Nuggets, let us have this one :downspin:

Has that changed? Old days, Spurs would always funnel guys to the baseline. Gives them fewer options and into the shotblockers.

Jokic is such a ridiculously good player, god damn. Absolutely deserving of the MVP this season and hopefully the Nuggets can make some noise, either this year or next one with their squad healthy. What a player and what a team, I'd love to see him win one for Denver someday.

His touch around the rim is ridiculous. I want every Spurs rookie draftee playing waterpolo ASAP

Lol, it's not about strength at all. Jakob's plenty strong. Jokic is finesse on top of strength, and that makes him such a tough cover. Watch him go toe-to-toe with anyone and get bodied, then flip a ridiculous shot at the rim that goes in Every. Single. Time.

There's no player in the league who can guard Jokic, factually. Not even Embiid could.

Lol, you think teams haven't tried "footwork and anticipation" strategies yet? This is as close a take as "oh I could beat him up if only he'd come square me up" gets. Brother, he's the reigning MVP of the league, gunning for a repeat of it, has dropped a 30+pt triple double on literally every single DPOY candidate -- and you think nobody's tried "footwork and anticipation" against him yet? :lmao

I don't mean to be rude, but if you really think that, you don't know what you're talking about. Embiid, as I said, has both the footwork and the anticipation, and Jokic shat over him when they met F2F a while ago, making ridiculous shots to boot. It's hardly that simple :lol

Don’t believe the hype. POP is a really good coach and his accolades speak. If Pop was any other coach he would have absolutely squandered the opportunities the team had to win a championship. The guys on here compare pop to phill jackson and doc rivers so make your own judgment on who to believe.

How so? First time I'm hearing this. Are they close off-court or something like that? I don't think I've seen tape of them training/shooting together, either, and it's not like the rest of the team elevated their shooting either (cough, Lonnie, cough), just Keldon.

I did not. To me it had more to do with him and doug on defense together is awful as neither one has the size to guard the 4 and neither one are good rebounders. Keldon being this type of shooter is icing on the cake and means we really should be looking to move Doug for something useful.

Lmao, I played competitive up till the end of highschool, fella. What exactly screams out to you that I didn't? The fact that I don't buy that an MVP level player can be dealt with with just "footwork and anticipation", both things the DPOY candidates have in spades (thus their good defense), all of which have been shat on by said MVP level player? Gee, what an amazing proposition!

Lazy, no-substance, personal attack level retort. You can do better! Step it up or shut up, no in between.

I’m not sure of the training together part (although that wouldn’t surprise me), it’s the way Doug created a lot of attention as an absolute sniper. My contention - The trickle on effect allowed Keldon to gain confidence even when his shot struggled to start the year. He was going to be able to get open looks in most situations, just had to start knocking ‘em down.

I found this pretty interesting:

Denver is also one of, if not the most, resilient teams in the league. Came back from two separate 1-3's in the playoffs with Jokic at the helm, too. This was bound to happen and it's anybody's game right now, IF the Spurs finish the 4th strong... Great game for the youngings.

I don’t want to pick on Poeltl, but he seems to play scared. I mean Zollins would try to push Jokic out of position while Poeltl almost just gives up. Just the body language between the two is night and day.

That is because Jakob is a pussy. He always goes into a shell when a big gets physical. Jokic knows this, which is why he averaging around 30 a game on Jakob. He legit just bulldozes him every play.
