Conservatives on the attack against women's bodily autonomy and access to medical care.
Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt on Tuesday will sign a bill into law (https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/05/politics/oklahoma-abortion-ban-bill/index.html) that makes performing an abortion illegal in the state, with an exception only in the case of a medical emergency.
Senate Bill 612 (http://webserver1.lsb.state.ok.us/cf_pdf/2021-22%20ENGR/SB/SB612%20ENGR.PDF), which cleared the state Senate last year and the House earlier this month, will make performing an abortion or attempting to perform one a felony punishable by a maximum fine of $100,000 or a maximum of 10 years in state prison, or both. The law does not provide exceptions in cases of rape and incest.
