I think Crowder maybe popped his Achilles. Can't believe they let him walk off the floor on his own power possibly damaging things more.

Just like that, 2-2. Mavs might not win but they might still make a good showing. I think that would do more to attract talent in the offseason, to actually be a competitor.

Thanos

Mavs have been great, but both wins (especially today) sort of feel like Phoenix is shooting themselves in the foot more than Dallas just outplaying them. But hey, take what they give you, and if you get a Supernova Luka game then you might steal this thing.

Clitter Pauls mommy and wife purportedly shoved.

Any video of allegations?
Did the girls flop and fake it?

One account says quote "put his hands on". Wonder if the guy just said "Hey what a shot" or something like that and the Pauls went into fake lawsuit / flagrant foul mode.

Hey while it should be not touching period, I'm more then willing to hear and see the video before coming to any conclusions.

Chris Paul’s family exaggerating contact, along with Chris Paul threatening to beat up a teenager, is unfortunately completely unsurprising.

Clearly whoever did it was trying to be trolls, and they deserve this ban, but spinning it as “pushing and shoving” while threatening a child is pretty crappy.

tbh the Suns have that feel of the typical "talented but whiny/mentally fragile" makeup that the early 00 Kings, Van Gundy Magic, Durant/Westbrook OKC Thunder, and pretty much every team Chris Paul/Doc Rivers/James Harden have been a part of. They just don't strike me as a team that's mentally tough enough to win a title with this group imho

as good as kidd has been all year, that was maybe his worst game of the season. did a horrible job of adjusting last night, and continues to allow powell to be in situations that kill momentum. luka jacked up the momentum in the 2Q, offense stayed stagnant in the 3rd and then the suns went all in on overplaying the passing lanes since the mavs werent doing any kind of motion to make them pay

get back to engaging the defense earlier in the shot clock, utilize the off ball movement that was so good in games 3 and 4, and phoenix will have run out of answers for luka and jalen and have to just hope the role players miss open looks at that point

despite Luka being a great passer, he just holds onto the ball deep into the shot clock too many times killing any kind of rhythm and creating a hot potato fire drill as someone has to jack up a bad shot before the clock expires. They need more consistent motion early on in the clock, especially when somebody is penetrating into the paint and kicking (particularly Brunson). If they're going to rely on helter-skelter offense, atleast keep everyone moving and engaged. Also, I think Luka may need to pick and choose when it's time to play "bully ball" in the post. With how physical Phoenix is playing him, it's probably wearing him down much quicker as the game goes on which is part of the reason his shooting has been so poor IMO

The entire Suns team is the perfect embodiment of the Jordan “It’s easy to talk sh*t when you’re winning” scene from The Last Dance. Mean mugging all game when they’re up, but got nothing to say to the Dallas bench when they’re losing :lol Pinson talks trash whether the team is up 30 or down 30, that guy is a keeper.

The Mavericks are clearly punching above their weight, and taking it 6 games is a massive overachievement, but there’s no chance these fake tough frontrunner Suns can win a title.

Thanos
05-11-2022, 09:44 PM
Also I’m so sick of the Luka “he’s wearing himself out” discussions. HE’S TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD, HE SHOULDN’T BE “WEARING DOWN” LIKE HE’S AN OLD MAN. I’m not even going to care what Dallas does in the offseason, because if Luka shows up to camp looking bloated again, then we already know the season is wasted.

Luka is a good passer nice vision but the biggest knock on my Bird comparison is how quick Larry was with his passes he had the gift Magic Kidd had …Doncic passing wise more ball dominant like Harden or better yet Bron… Luka sometimes ignores the Skip ahead pass that the pure PGs love …he a better natural scorer than all of them (at same age) kid is soo gifted. Having memories of the mid-00 Suns who would usually put away inferior teams in these types of situations, I’m not feeling too confident in game 7. Seems inevitable they’ll sh!t the bed at some point with how underwhelming they’ve been in the postseason this far but they’ll probably put away Dallas at least. Feels weird to say that the Bucks/Celtics have been the two most ‘trustworthy’ teams this postseason.

on a somewhat related note CP3 looks washed up to the point he doesn’t even Give a damn in his postgame interviews. He used to be Russell Westbrook level entertaining but now he’s just going the lazy JasonGarrett route with his answers

”gotta look at the tape…look at the tape…”

The Suns had some oddly horrible energy for whatever reason this series. Did anybody ever get pi$$ed off at any point in this series? Mavericks looked like the only team that really cared. Luka was doing the stanky leg and mocking them after every play and nobody seemed to give a dam. But they were like this the whole series, basically treating it like seven straight regular season games. From Booker smiling and laughing off their blowout losses in Dallas, to CP3 looking like he'd rather be doing anything other than playing basketball. Phoenix did not look like a team that was focused on getting back to the Finals. I'm not normally the type to read into player's attitudes during press conferences, but it was weird how nonchalant they were when speaking to the media. Just never looked like a team that had championship aspirations

Hopefully we find out soon what went down in their locker room tbh. Seems like some rift developed between Ayton, Booker, Paul, and the rest of the team tbh.

wouldn't surprise me tbh. they had that same 'lifeless' look that that one Pacers team had when they were the #1 seed but fell apart when Roy Hibbert got cucked by Paul George

Speaking of centers turning to sh!t overnight, Luka basically ended Ayton and Gobert's careers in the span of just a few weeks imo

CP3 seems to wear out his welcome within 2 years of joining a new team. Guys just tune him out once they realize he really doesn’t have the balls to back it up.

Amazing thing is Luka can still get in shape and hit a whole other God-Tier level.

The final score to me is 92 to 50. This 4th quarter trash time where Chris Paul tries to suck start his stat line before Stephen A rips him a new one (he'll go after Booker, not Paul). The game is decided. These next points mean nothing, unless Dallas goes up 50 lol

Yep, Stephen A went after Booker, and "felt sorry" for Chris Paul.

Great stuff on how Kidd made defensive adjustments

I was lukewarm on the Kidd hire at first, but I'm really impressed at his 'Phil Jackson'-esque ability to push certain buttons at the right time tbh. Of course player credibility has something to do with it. No way a guy like Stan Van Gundy would be able to call out the team like Kidd did after Game 1 in Phoenix imo

100.

No proof but if it leaked out Suns were paying off massive gambling debts i would not be surprised at all.
The payoff for 35 points or whatever it was at halftime, along with down 30 at halftime and down 45 at one point in 3rd.

I think they were just a mentally weak bunch of front runners who had exceptional fortune and breaks to help them get to the finals last year even though they had no business being there

lol sounds like Fapps may have been banking on the Suns paying off massive gambling debts of his own, but instead they laid an egg :lol

Nooo.
I was pulling for Dallas all the way.
As i was pulling for Memphis over Golden State Game 5.

The down 55 in the 3rd quarter also very suspicious looking. Less so because the Dubs knew they had WarriorRef and it was only 5 with game 6 being back to the cozy confines of the Gay Area.
Not nearly as much as the Suns but -55 very suspicious.

I think the warriors and suns simply weren't as good as many thought

also the Mavs were better than people realized. there's a reason they had the #2 record in the league after trading KP. they are a very good team

Getting rid of overrated broken down unicorn Porzingis improved the Mavs?! You don’t say?
I wonder who called this when they traded for KP?!
I was told his height had nothing to do with his lower body injuries and if he could just stay healthy ….

Could be the Suns feel that they were better this year without Chris Paul. Their record did not suffer when he was out. Could be they knew he was playing "injured" and wouldn't allow a more capable PG to take the reins. Basically it was the "win one for Chris" tour. Those rarely pan out. Not everyone is invested.
