Actually I don't think the question is so much should we retire #7, but who should we retire it for. Oberto or JR Reid.

Some will point to the "fact" that Oberto has only been with the Spurs for less than a quarter of a season, but he does a lot of stuff that doesn't show up in the box score. I'm not sure exactly what those things are because well...they aren't in the box score and I don't know where else I would find out what he's done. But clearly with 24 hours in a day Oberto has to be doing a lot of things that don't show up in the box score.

Meanwhile JR Reid was a pillar of this franchise in the days of yore. Anyone who would think otherwise clearly has never watched a single Spurs game ever in their entire life and their mere existance on this board is a disgusting travesty for us REAL fans because they don't deserve to live.

So who gets their name on the back of the #7 jersey when they retire?

Prime numbers rules. They never should be retired.

I would like to see Alex Scales's number retired, but I'm not sure if he got one at all.

Hell no! I won't be satisfied until Mengke Battier's #34 is retired.
