Also, I dont know where the Becky thread went and I really should have posted it, but saw a post from a WNBA player or media person about when recognizing the Pop tree (it was in reference to Ime and Kerr being in the finals), recognition should have also been given to Becky Hammon, as her team was at that point 10-1 I believe and the tweet said that was the best start from a WNBA team in their history.

It was a few days ago, but maybe I can dig that up.

yeah, there's no doubt that becky belongs to the tree which is a great testament to how pop's branches have even spread out to the WNBA

"Thank you, Gregg Popovich. He practically runs an academy there (San Antonio) for future coaches, and not just coaches but team executives," Silver said ahead of Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals. "He's done a fantastic job."

Wait, I was told that "Coach Poop" was old and senile and just holding the Spurs franchise back for the sake of his own ego?

Could...could SpursTalk have been wrong? Have we been hoodwinked?

Most influential person in the world of basketball whether by proxy, or directly.
He deserves his HOF more than anyone else other than the Titans, which he is amongst that heady air.

We are so blessed.

I remember when he fired that coach who was consistently bring in them 50 win seasons and said he wanted to instill defense.
Then pseudo-tanked for Timmy.

He took that grabbing for that brass ring and milked it into a monstrous dynasty that affects both the NBA and WNBA to this day.

Damn man. Damn.

We got to watch it happen.

True. I watched the Spurs win 4 titles (‘99 doesn’t count, since I didn’t see that and I didn’t really care about basketball at that point). It would be awesome to see them get another one, with or without Pop. I’ve already made peace with the fact that the last one they won was the Big 3’s last, but Pop still has a chance to get another one as long as he’s still coaching.
