Been saying for a couple months now that I’m pretty confident Duren will not be the pick. Seeing that like 80% of mocks have us picking makes me feel even more confident lol. These mocks are never right. Leaning towards Dyson Daniels or Sochan.

I continue to be unimpressed with Kevin O'Connor. I don't know if he's lazy, but he rarely seem to care what he's talking about in his mock drafts lately.
His explanation for the picks proves he’s just throwing darts against the wall.

Yahoo! | Final 2022 NBA Mock Draft: Projections for all 58 picks ahead of Thursday's draft
Krysten Peek, June 20, 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs: C Jalen Duren
Ht./Wt.: 6-11, 250 pounds | Class: Freshman | Memphis: 12 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.1 bpg
Duren was a consensus top-three player coming out of high school and despite his young age at 18 years old, he held his own in college hoops this season. He has an NBA-ready body at 250 pounds and was one of the best passers out of a double team in college basketball. Duren will be a project and is still a couple years away from contributing immediately to a team. He’ll need to work on his jump shot out of the pick-and-pop and his lateral quickness when having to occasionally step out and guard the perimeter. The Spurs could take Duren inside the top 10 and develop him alongside their 12th overall pick last year, Josh Primo. Primo spent most of his first year in the G League working on his game, and it could be a similar path for Duren, further developing under a great coaching staff.
20. San Antonio Spurs: G Dalen Terry
Ht./Wt.: 6-7, 195 pounds | Class: Sophomore | Arizona: 8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.9 apg
Terry elected to stay in the draft after not participating at the combine, outside of his agency's media day. The Spurs have three first-round picks and can afford to take a player like Terry, whom they can mold the next couple years as a secondary option alongside Josh Primo and Jalen Duren (who we project at No. 9).
25. San Antonio Spurs: F E.J. Liddell
Ht./Wt.: 6-7, 240 pounds | Class: Junior | Ohio State: 19.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.5 apg
Liddell was one of the most improved players in college basketball this past season and solidified himself as a first-round pick after expanding his game on both ends of the floor. His 3-point shooting improved and he has a Grant Williams style of play on defense. He might be a little undersized at the power forward position at 6-foot-7 but he has the skill set to step out on the perimeter and impact the game with passing and creating for others.
38. San Antonio Spurs: F Jaylin Williams (Arkansas)
Williams has great size at 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds and moves well off the block, creating space for his teammates. Williams averaged a double-double during the NCAA men's tournament (14.3 points and 11.8 rebounds) and was named to the West Regional All-Tournament team.

Why not trade out of 25 for 2 Seconds? Maybe MIN with 40 and 48. Less financial commitment, can assess more talent, and if the talent is pretty even from 25-50, then why not take two free swings in the second as opposed to having to pay guaranteed money to someone in the first?

Perfection would be to roll it over to next draft somehow.

jalen Duren
C, San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio Spurs
Jalen Duren is probably the singular most impressive athletic specimen in this draft. The things he can do at his young age are oftentimes hard to even believe. Duren terrorized opposing offenses with his stifling defensive play and dominance on the glass all year long at Memphis. His potential is sky-high and it would not surprise me at all if he became a top 3 player from this draft class.
But he is not that player yet. His offensive package is extremely raw and limited. He’s a burgeoning bundle of talent that’s going to need to be coached up and guided closely in order to develop properly. If any team can do that, it’s the Spurs. Duren’s shown flashes of a mid-range game, surprisingly competent playmaking ability, and elite defensive ability.
If he can make the most of those talents, Duren could very well become the next Bam Adebayo. That’s fantastic value here at the ninth spot.
20
Jalen Williams
SF, San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio Spurs
if Jalen Williams is no longer on the board when the 20th pick rolls around on Thursday, I won’t be surprised. Several teams should be interested in his services, including the Bulls. But if Jalen Williams is still on the board after the 20th pick is made, I will be shocked.
Considered a second-round talent by many just a few months ago, Williams has vaulted up draft boards everywhere through his excellent play for Santa Clara. Averaging 18 points per game on 39.6% shooting from deep, Williams fits the archetype every team is looking for in today’s NBA. If he does manage to slip to No. 20, San Antonio shouldn’t hesitate to add the most promising wing left on the board.
25
Dalen Terry
G, San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio Spurs
Dalen Terry’s size and playmaking ability are sure to have several teams interested here at the end of the first round. Should the Spurs decide to utilize their third pick of this draft here at No. 25, the sophomore out of Arizona should definitely pique San Antonio’s interest.
If the Spurs manage to land a pair of high upside players in Jalen Duren and Jalen Williams, drafting a guard with a high floor might be the best move here. San Antonio clearly wants to invest in the development of Josh Primo and Devin Vassell, but the impending departure of Lonnie Walker in free agency should still open a sizeable reserve role for a solid player like Terry.

Yahoo! | 2022 NBA Mock Draft: Latest first-round projections for all 30 picks
Rob Schaefer, June 20, 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs: Jeremy Sochan, F, Baylor
Age: 19
2021-22 Stats: 9.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.3 spg | 47.4% FG, 29.6% 3P
Sochan has the tools to be elite at the defensive end of the floor, but questions regarding his outside shot muddy his overall projection. Enter San Antonio, and their sterling reputation for developing jumpers and menacing defensive wings.
20. San Antonio Spurs (via Raptors): Blake Wesley, G, Notre Dame
Age: 19
2021-22 Stats: 14.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.3 spg | 40.4% FG, 30.3% 3P
The Spurs displayed a penchant for raw, high-potential shot-creators by plucking Josh Primo late in the lottery of the 2021 draft. Wesley has a similar profile. He burst on the scene as a freshman at Notre Dame, becoming the first one-and-done in the program’s history on the weight of his physical tools and dynamic off-the-dribble game. If he can iron out his scoring efficiency at the next level, he could wind up a tremendous value in the back-end of the first round.
25. San Antonio Spurs (via Celtics): Nikola Jović, F, Mega Basket
Age: 19
2021-22 Stats (Liga ABA): 11.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.4 apg | 42.8% FG, 35.6% 3P
Jović is a lesser-known quantity, having spent the last two seasons in the Adriatic League. But in theory, his jack-of-all trades skill set, which features everything from ball handling to table-setting to shooting, would be a dream match with the Spurs.

One of the things I like/dislike about rooting for laundry sites like Pippen Ain't Easy, SpursTalk, Peachtree Hoops, and so on, is the tendency to pick for other teams so that a desired pick drops. That said, the wishful thinking does highlight what those teams fans want. May Sharpe go in top 8!

San Antonio Spurs: Ousmane Dieng (New Zealand Breakers)
Return to menu
The 19-year-old Dieng, who hails from France, needs some work: He’s not yet much of a threat at the rim or beyond the arc, and he put up modest numbers (8.9 PPG, 3.2 RPG) during his one year with the New Zealand Breakers, who play in Australia’s National Basketball League. Still, he has the frame, feel and passing-minded approach to be a fit in San Antonio.

9
San Antonio Spurs: Shaedon Sharpe, Kentucky
Matt Stone/Courier Journal
Height: 6-5
Weight: 198
Year: Freshman
Position: G
There is still much unknown about Sharpe after sitting out last season at Kentucky, but teams are certainly still intrigued with his ability and potential. The Spurs appear to be the floor for Sharpe as the former five-star recruit could be off of the board by now. We are a bit lower on Sharpe than most but if he can develop into the player many believe he can be, San Antonio would pick up a valuable rotation player that could potentially develop into a star.
20
San Antonio Spurs (from Toronto): Walker Kessler, Auburn
Caitie McMekin/News Sentinel
Height: 7-1
Weight: 256
Year: Sophomore
Position: C
The Naismith Defensive Player of the Year measured in with a 7-foot-4 wingspan at the draft combine and added about nine pounds from his playing weight at Auburn. Kessler would fill some needs for San Antonio in the frontcourt, especially on the defensive end, and could be a good possibility here.
25
San Antonio Spurs (from Boston): MarJon Beauchamp, NBA G League Ignite
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports
Height: 6-6
Weight: 196
Year: N/A
Position: F
Beauchamp projects to be a good selection as a player that can step in and contribute off the bench. He can give the Spurs another strong defender with his 7-foot wingspan and elite athleticism. He will need to work on his shooting but, with the Spurs holding three first-round picks, would be a great choice to consider at this point of the draft.
38. San Antonio (from Lakers): Ismael Kamagate, Paris (France)

Clutch Sports | Final 2022 NBA Mock Draft
Sean Barnard, June 20, 2022
9) San Antonio Spurs: Ousmane Dieng- Wing New Zealand
A 6’9″ wing with intriguing potential, Ousmane Dieng has not gotten as much buzz as he has earned. He spent last season with the New Zealand Breakers where he had an up-and-down season. His 7-foot wingspan and fluid movement are intriguing, and he is a great fit in the modern NBA. Dieng has been a recent draft riser, so it should not be a surprise if he sneaks into the top 10.
20) San Antonio Spurs: Nikola Jovic- Wing Serbia
A high-level passer who excels in transition, Nikola Jovic is a polished NBA prospect. The Serbian wing teases shot creation potential and possesses a high IQ. His 6’10” size makes him a matchup nightmare for opponents. The San Antonio Spurs would be a perfect landing spot for the 19-year-old.
25) San Antonio Spurs: Jake LaRavia- Forward Wake Forest
A high-IQ player with and without the ball, Jake LaRavia projects well at the NBA level. The 20-year-old transferred to Wake Forest after two seasons at Indiana State and took the next necessary steps in his development. The lack of athleticism and shot creation will limit him, but LaRavia has the feel of a productive NBA role player moving forward.

9
Jalen Duren
Center Memphis
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs are practically gifted big man Jalen Duren here at No. 9. He is a very young and somewhat raw center who can easily excel in the right fit.
He is a great shot blocker and rebounder and finds himself in lob situations constantly on offense. His mid-range jump shot is there as well, making him an all-around NBA day one center. Pair him with star Dejounte Murray and you have an awesome young guard/center duo for years to come.
His potential is through the roof with his young age, but he has had some concerns with his motor and hustle at times. With a little development from one of the GOATs in Gregg Popovich, I think Duren could quickly become of the premier centers in the NBA.
20
Nikola Jovic
SF Mega Mozzart
San Antonio Spurs
This may sound silly, but Nikola Jovic is pretty similar to superstar Nikola Jokic. He loves to find his teammates by threading the needle and making it look effortless. He is 6’11” and can put the ball on the floor and has a good jump shot.
He is quicker and not as broad/strong as Jokic, and is still a bit slow, especially when sliding his feet on defense. Nonetheless, he is a player you don’t see every day and because of that, I think he finds himself off the board here with Popovich and the Spurs.
25
Andrew Nembhard
PG Gonzaga
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs are on the clock here with their third first-round pick and could possibly try to shop this selection.
But for this mock draft, I’ll have them stick it out and select point guard Andrew Nembhard.
Some may disagree with this pick and think that it’s way too early for him to be selected, but I see Nembhard as one of the few high floor players in this class. He has played four years of college basketball and has proven that he can be the floor general for your team.
He is “already” (hate using that word with rookies) 22, but he acts and plays like he is older. He rarely makes mistakes and always knows where his teammates are, as he averaged 5.8 assists last year for Gonzaga.
Nembhard is my sleeper this year.

Basketball News | 2022 NBA Mock Draft: 6/17/22
Matt Babcock, June 17, 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs
Jeremy Sochan
6-9 | 230 | Baylor | Forward
Jeremy Sochan is an energetic, athletic forward with positional size, standing 6-foot-9. He has a tremendous motor and excels as a versatile defender and rebounder due to his footwork and length. Sochan has shown flashes of self-creation but primarily scored off of cuts at the rim and catch-and-shoot threes this past season. He will only be 19 years old on draft day, but he is already showing why he has big-time potential at the NBA level. Sochan's combination of size, athleticism, instincts and skill is unique.
20. San Antonio Spurs
Nikola Jović
6-10 | 222 | Mega Basket | Forward
Nikola Jović just turned 19 years old, two weeks before the 2022 NBA Draft, so he is young but skilled and full of promise. At 6-foot-10, Jović excels as a playmaker and scorer. He is comfortable as a ball-handler and is a functional passer. Jović lacks elite explosiveness and can be a bit streaky as a shooter from deep; however, his confidence and skill set make him an intriguing long-term prospect.
25. San Antonio Spurs
Jake LaRavia
6-8 | 227 | Wake Forest | Forward
After transferring from Indiana State, Jake LaRavia immediately impacted the Wake Forest team this past season, establishing himself as a worthy NBA prospect and one of the best shooters in the ACC Conference. At 6-foot-8, LaRavia is a versatile scorer and rebounder and has a tremendous feel for the game.

Will never be a do-it-all big man, but has a chance to be a top-five defensive big in the NBA. Maybe it won't even take that long. Williams is a rim-running problem who can guard in the interior, rebound like hell and is probably going to grow into an adept passing center. He's a true center, and it's hard to see him expanding his game too much from there, but his length, hand size, jumping ability and always-searching eyes will ensure he won't bust.

If you've been scrolling and thinking I forgot Davis, fear not. I can't stress this enough: all those mock drafts you've been reading that have a lot of sameness to them? They'll in many regards wind up being wrong (and that's to be expected). So many guys will eventually prove they were taken too late or too early. With Davis, I'll side with the too early camp. He was a college stud (I loved him at Wisconsin), but I'll sell him being a lottery-level value in the long run because I'm projecting that the gap between college and the NBA will be a significant one for someone who wasn't an exception shooter, isn't an elite athlete and had problems with some of his decision-making. This is a like-don't-love situation for me.

Too tall and skilled to not have a first-round grade on. The tempo and body movement with his dribbling and step-back reminds me of Michael Porter Jr. Jovic hails from Serbia — the land of two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokić. Jovic is a fascinating prospect. He plays just a bit faster than he looks, is a bit lighter than his frame belies, and has a better touch around the rim than it seems when you watch the tape. Talent-wise, he's among the best this year has to offer.

NBC Philadelphia | First-round mock draft: Can Sixers snag a player who helps right away?
Noah Levick, 10 minutes ago AKA 20 June 2022
9. Spurs: Jeremy Sochan, F, Baylor
He surely won’t ever match Dennis Rodman, but Sochan has already sported plenty of bright hair colors and styles. When he’s out there, you’ll know. Another similarity with Rodman: He’s glad to play intense, irritating defense on anyone and is physically equipped to do it. Sochan came off Baylor’s bench and didn’t post huge numbers, but the top-10 buzz makes perfect sense. He shot just 29.6 percent from three-point range and 58.9 percent from the foul line, though the Spurs have a lot of faith in shooting coach Chip Engelland.
20. Spurs: Nikola Jovic, F, Mega Mozzart
A center would be sensible here for a team thinking most about winning games next season. Though they managed to qualify for the play-in tournament last year, the Spurs shouldn’t be in that mode. Counting Zach Collins (non-guaranteed salary), Devin Vassell and Josh Primo (club options), San Antonio has only five players under contract through the 2023-24 season, per Spotrac. In that context, it would be easy to understand the Spurs drafting a tall, multi-skilled Serbian wing.
25. Spurs: Jaden Hardy, SG, G League Ignite
A single inefficient season of professional basketball doesn’t negate all of the scoring tools that made Hardy one of the country’s top high school recruits. He gets off long-range shots, which could wind up being useful in San Antonio. The Spurs have consistently ranked near the bottom of the league in three-point frequency (28th last year, per Cleaning the Glass).

One thing that is almost always certain though, is that outside of the top 5 picks or so, if most mocks are projecting the same players to the same teams over and over, they’re almost always wrong. Usually doesn’t happen.

i get that mocks are speculative and i enjoy them but there are some that i come across where it just seems like the person(s) putting together a particular mock didn't even bother to do any research or are just basing their mock on other mocks. the one above from CBS that has the spurs picking johnny davis with the 20th and mark williams at 9 is just batty.

I agree that Davis at 20 is a shit take. He has a much better chance of being drafted at 6-8 than falling out of the lottery altogether. Williams won’t go in the top 10 unless it’s the Spurs at 9 imo, and I don’t think that’s happening either. But yea A lot of these guys just throw names around. Everyone knows they're mocks. You're not saying anything new.
What is clear for some of these choads, however, is their laziness. They don't bother thinking about what a team is likely to do and just start clicking players on their Fanspo in order to get their article over to the site to publish. Having the Spurs draft Jovic at 20 immediately after Dieng at 9 is complete nonsense. They are essentially the same player in many ways. You see this garbage way too often. I want Murray or Daniels at 9, neither will be there. I wouldn't be opposed to swapping picks with another team in the mid-teens and adding additional future draft assets. With that new pick I take Tari Eason because of his defensive versatility. He can improve his shooting with Chip but having a guy who can guard 1-4 regularly would be outstanding.
20 - Gabriele Procida - he is flying up the draft boards and probably won't be there at 25
25 - either Kendall Brown (I am all about his defense and athleticism) or Ismael Kamagate (we have had some great fortune with French players)
38 - Kennedy Chandler - reminds me of a mixture of Tony Parker and Chris Paul
BTW, I am a defense first guy. I have always favored defense over offense. This mock is a defense-minded draft.

Nicolas Kyle Pring, 19 hours ago AKA 20 June 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs – Tari Eason | PF | LSU | 6’8” | 217 LBS
The San Antonio Spurs are in an unsteady position in the West, but another rare lottery appearance could improve their playoff chances next season. One point of emphasis to improve on is in the frontcourt, where they are clearly lacking. This is where Tari Eason could appeal to them, as the LSU alum has a rare mix of size, scoring, defending, and rebounding as a do-it-all forward.
20. San Antonio Spurs (from TOR) – Ousmane Dieng | SF | New Zealand | 6’9” | 185 LBS
If anything, the Spurs need size to break free from their uber-reliance on small-ball lineups. And with a solid pedigree in developing international prospects, Gregg Popovich and company could deem Ousmane Dieng a steal at no. 20 as an athletic, versatile forward who can score and pass.
25. San Antonio Spurs (from BOS) – Nikola Jovic | SF | Mega Basket | 6’11” | 223 LBS
With three first-round selections in the 2022 NBA Draft, San Antonio can afford to make a swing pick here. Banking on promise at large, Serbian prospect Nikola Jovic could be a classic Spurs pick as a skilled and savvy combo forward who can shoot and pass, and has an intriguing physical profile to complement his high basketball IQ to boot.

AJ Griffin
Forward San Antonio Spurs / Duke
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs made the play-in last season, so are on the verge of being good and have some nice young talent to build around in Dejounte Murray and Joshua Primo.
They could use more depth at the forward position, as well as an injection of shooting, since the Spurs were just 19th in the NBA this season.
Griffin has become one of the more underrated talents in the draft, as he is much more explosive and well-rounded than people give him credit for. He can shoot the lights out from long range but he is also a pretty good playmaker and can beat guys off the dribble to get his own shot.
There are concerns about his injury history, otherwise he’d probably be going in the top-5 of the 2022 NBA Draft, as he has the shooting and length teams are looking for in a modern NBA wing.

#38 Jaylin Williams
Gives you Sochan/Minott to refresh the PF hopefully can push KJ to the starting SF by midseason,
Jalen Williams replaces Walker IV, and Jaylin Williams is 3rd string C after Spurs trade Poeltl at the deadline, sliding up Zollins/Lansdale in the C depth or bringing back an established C,
pushing Jaylin more appropriately to G League where he probably needs to start anyway competing for Lansdales mins more realistically.
Jettisoning JRich at the deadline as well for 23 FRP hopefully. Prob stuck with MCD though.

SB Nation | NBA mock draft 2022: SB Nation bloggers make picks for their teams
SB Nation NBA Staff, June 21, 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs - Jalen Duren, C, Memphis
Related
SB Nation Blogger Mock Draft: The Spurs select Jalen Duren with the 9th pick
Why the Jalen Duren/Mark Williams to the Spurs rumors make sense
San Antonio is operating in a middle ground, teetering between rebuilding and retooling as Gregg Popovich enters the likely final act of his coaching career. Though Dejounte Murray emerged as a first-time All-Star a season ago, this roster desperately needs top-flight talent. At 18 years old, Jalen Duren is the youngest prospect in this class, with the tools to become one of the best players at his position down the line. Duren will have the luxury of learning the ropes behind Jakob Poeltl without the pressure of starting from day one, and there is perhaps no franchise more comfortable taking things slow with rookies than the Silver and Black.
The Memphis alumnus would give San Antonio their first legitimate lob threat since DeWayne Dedmon rocked rims off the bench in 2017, and fans will stare in awe at his outrageous catch radius. Duren seems to have a solid grasp of his tremendous gravity rolling to the basket out of ball screens, and made more than a couple of crisp short-roll passes to perimeter shooters. David Robinson and Tim Duncan have made themselves available to youngsters after hanging up their sneakers. Could you imagine how much basketball knowledge Jalen Duren could soak up if he arrived in the 2-1-0 willing to be a sponge? The well-built center is a work in progress, but if his impressive measurables intersect with sound fundamentals, the Spurs are potentially looking at a two-way stud. — Noah Magaro-George, Pounding the Rock
20. San Antonio Spurs - Kendall Brown, G, Baylor
Related
SB Nation Blogger Mock Draft: The Spurs select Kendall Brown with the 20th pick
The benefits of the Spurs trading a pick for immediate help
The Spurs should be targeting players with size, defensive versatility, and upside to improve their roster for the long haul. San Antonio gets all three by choosing Kendall Brown. The Sunrise Christian Academy product had a promising freshman season at Baylor in which he flashed unique two-way utility as a pick-and-roll ball-handler and switchable defender. Brown was among the best cutters and transition finishers in the nation, making him a suitable fit for a team requiring savvy off-ball movement as it has become increasingly heliocentric around leading man Dejounte Murray.
The former Bear must develop a league-average 3-point jumper and shore up his ball-handling to achieve his high-end outcome. Thankfully, Brown will be 19 years old for the entirety of the regular season, so the Silver and Black can afford to be patient with his development. Even if he fails to influence winning as a rookie, he has an outstanding foundation as a glue guy who can operate as an above-the-rim play finisher and high-motor defensive nuisance while the other skills come along. — Noah Magaro-George, Pounding the Rock
25. San Antonio Spurs - Ryan Rollins, G, Toledo
Related
SB Nation Blogger Mock Draft: The Spurs select Ryan Rollins with the 25th pick
Building the Spurs back into a contender starts with the 2022 NBA Draft
Do the Spurs need another guard? Probably not, but with the 25th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, San Antonio selects Ryan Rollins from the University of Toledo. The crafty combo guard is a fringe lottery prospect who should get an opportunity to earn rotation minutes in the event unrestricted free agent Lonnie Walker IV moves on to greener pastures.
Rollins is an adept pick-and-roll ballhandler who snakes screens and stops on a dime to pull up from his favorite spots inside the arc. He is arguably the most polished midrange scorer in this class. Rollins can walk smaller defenders into the paint with his back to the basket for a turnaround jumper, or create space one-on-one with violent dribble moves or step-backs. On the other end, Rollins uses his six-ten wingspan and tremendous anticipation to play the passing lanes and punish opponents for lackadaisical deliveries.
Adjusting to NBA competition after spending two seasons at a mid-major will take time. That said, the undersized swingman is a reliable 3-point stroke away from having the tools to develop into the quintessential Sixth Man for a group devoid of many self-creators. — Noah Magaro-George, Pounding the Rock

I'm a Baylor guy through and through, but I would consider Brown a reach at 20. He's great in transition, but he really struggles to make an impact in the half court game. His only value came when they called a lob off a backside cut or asked him to initiate his own offense on a dribble hand-off at the key. He was hesitant to shoot threes, even when left wife open, and "floated" a lot on offense.
On defense, he's solid on the ball but doesn't have the lateral quickness to stay with NBA-level wings. Off ball, he was often caught ball watching and was susceptible to backdoor cuts.
He does have the frame to put on more weight and stick at the 4, but he'll still need seasoning in Austin to work on his handle and shot. Smart, quiet kid who will put in the work, but I don't know his ceiling or if he'll be given enough time to get there.

This might be a bit far for Murray to fall, but the concerns about his athleticism and defense are legitimate. San Antonio will gladly take him, as his 3-point shooting and overall skill set should fit a void on a team with a lot of young guard talent. With San Antonio's development staff, Murray could become an All-Star level player in a few years.

There's been a lot of heat around Terry's name as the draft approaches, and it's easy to see why. His 7-1 wingspan projects him as a potential lockdown defender on the wing, but he also has scoring and playmaking upside on the other end. We didn't see much of it at Arizona because of his role, but he's confident that he'll be able to show it in the NBA. He seems like a perfect fit for an increasingly young and athletic Spurs team.

The Spurs have three first-round picks, so they can afford to take a big swing on Jovic, a legitimate prospect who goes well beyond having an extremely similar name to the reigning two-time MVP. Jovic is very raw, but the upside is obvious. At 6-10, he handles the ball like a guard in transition and has deep 3-point range with a consistent, quick release. He needs to work on getting his body NBA ready, but San Antonio isn't in any rush.

USAToday | 2022 NBA mock draft: No clear-cut No. 1 for Magic, unpredictable lottery picks add excitement
Jeff Zillgitt, June 22, 2022
9. San Antonio
Johnny Davis, Wisconsin, guard, 6-5, 194, sophomore
Davis took a huge leap as a scorer and rebounder in his second year from 7.0 to 19.7 points and 4.1 to 8.2 rebounds per game. He’s great in the mid-range but will need to improve as an outside shooter to be an effective lead scorer in the NBA. Davis knows how to use his size against smaller guards. Coming from Wisconsin’s offense focused on ball and player movement, Davis would have no problem fitting in with the Spurs.
20. San Antonio (from Toronto)
E.J. Liddell, Ohio State, forward, 6-7, 240, junior
Liddell improved across the board – shooting, passing, rebounding and shot blocking – in his junior season. Projected as a small forward who could play some small-ball power forward in the NBA, Liddell can play inside and outside offensively and has the strength to absorb contact and finish at the rim. This would give the Spurs some bulk.
25. San Antonio (from Boston)
Walker Kessler, Auburn, center, 7-1, 245, sophomore
Kessler is a pick-and-roll big, knows how to set screens and is patient alongside the ball-handler. He is also very active on the offensive boards and blocks shots. He improved his game after playing his freshman season at North Carolina, shooting 70.2% on 2-pointers for Auburn. Adding a reliable 3-ball will help.

Adam Finkelstein, 3 hours ago AKA 22 June 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs: Jeremy Sochan, PF, Baylor
NBA Likely Lottery Pick: Jeremy Sochan
Jeremy Sochan is one of the most versatile players in the draft. Sochan fits a prototype that San Antonio has historically valued and fills a positional need on their roster, especially relative to San Antonio's young assets. He’s an exceptionally versatile defender and high IQ offensive player with good hands and a passing instinct. If Sochan can develop as a shooter, we may look back on this pick and wonder how he didn’t go higher.
20. San Antonio Spurs: Jalen Williams, SF, Santa Clara
NBA Draft Player Comparisons: Jalen Williams
Jalen Williams has risen up draft boards at a rapid rate this offseason and it's because he has undeniable untapped potential. Williams is naturally strong with very long arms, two-way tools and shooting potential that the Spurs will covet given their history of player development.
25. San Antonio Spurs: Marjon Beauchamp, SF, G League Ignite
NBA Draft Player Comparison: MarJon Beauchamp
Marjon Beauchamp is another high-risk, high-reward type proposition, but given San Antonio’s culture and history of player development, this is a swing worth taking. Beauchamp is undeniably talented and has also impressed with his transparency and accountability during the pre-draft interview process.

But we won’t stop there. I’ll also make a correlated bet after each of the 20 picks. This is Action Network, after all.
20 picks. 20 correlated bets. Each labeled as a bet, lean, or pass.
First number is Anderson's mock, second number is consensus among selected mocks.
Johnny Davis 9 9
No. 9 Spurs — SG Johnny Davis, Wisconsin
Johnny Davis was one of the stars of college basketball this season. He’s a high IQ player who defends hard and can score at all three levels, with a deadly pull-up jumper and a game that should translate well to the highest level of half-court, playoff-setting type games.
Davis doesn’t have one signature skill, but it’s his rounded game that makes him such a likable prospect, and that all-around game has had him linked early and often to the Spurs.
I’d love to bet on Davis to the Spurs if we get odds for it. For now, let’s stick within the Big Ten, where we can bet on the first player drafted out of the conference. Davis and Murray have high floors, but I’ll bet on Ivey’s ceiling.
Bet: Jaden Ivey first Big Ten player drafted (-225 PointsBet)
Kendall Brown 20 29
No. 20 Spurs — SF Kendall Brown, Baylor
Brown was potential top-10 pick early in the NCAA season but fell hard as the year went on. He looked lost offensively late in the year and has a rough shot profile on low volume — but I still believe.
Brown remains top-10 on my board. He’s a fluid, easy athlete with a comfy dribble and jolting athleticism, and his IQ pops on both ends. He feels like a blank slate 3-and-D wing with huge potential ready to develop in the right system that teaches him how to shoot and play ball. Sounds like the Spurs.
Lean: Kendall Brown first round pick (+250 DraftKings)

Sharpe’s scoring prowess at the high school level is enough to make him a lottery pick. But he’s a bit of a mystery after sitting out his entire freshman season at Kentucky. Perhaps the Spurs will want to invest in his long-term upside and have him follow the same developmental plan that Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell are currently on. Sharpe has flashed the will to pass the ball and has shown grit on defense. San Antonio’s system could get the most out of him.

PLUSES
Blossomed physically as a high school junior, sprouting from 6-foot-4 to 6-foot-6. He’s an above-the-rim athlete who skies for dunks in space and blocks on the break. His movements are shifty and have a certain elasticity. He’s such a quick leaper that teams could use him in the half court on lobs or finishes from the dunker’s spot.
With long arms and lateral quickness, he’s able to utilize his athleticism to get stops on the ball, help in the paint, and rack up deflections.
Good ball handler with an advanced layup package. If he drives baseline and gets contested, he can soar underneath and score on a reverse from the other side. As an explosive, ambidextrous finisher, drawing more fouls and adding more craft could make him a top-tier scorer.
Shoots the hell out of the ball. He can drain jumpers out of isolation using a variety of moves. Off the ball, he can relocate or run off a handoff then launch. He’s a little streaky, so he’ll need to prove he’s an elite shooter rather than just a good one.
Gritty player on offense. He crashes the boards, cuts, and would probably screen if his coach asked him to. He’s able to score off scrappy plays with no wasted motion.
Willing passer who shows an effort to weaponize his scoring. For example, in multiple high school games I reviewed, he dribbled into a stepback going to his left and could have taken the shot but instead kicked it out for a corner 3. He’s a score-first player, but passes like those signal that he wants to make his teammates better.
Late bloomer in high school who went from unranked to the top of draft boards. Now he has an outside chance to become the third Canadian to get picked first in NBA history.
MINUSES
Sharpe didn’t play basketball at Kentucky, electing to sit out the year to better prepare for next season. He already lacked significant big-game exposure in high school, so the jump to the NBA will be both a major physical and mental challenge.
Off-ball defense. He sometimes falls out of position when defending his man, leading to closeouts from rogue angles. When rotating, he’s sometimes a beat late to make a read.
Lacks experience running the pick-and-roll, which should be a staple of his offense in the NBA. He also doesn’t have the tightest handle, though he’s made enough progress to suggest that will further improve.
Shot selection can be an issue. He’s a streaky shooter who too often falls in love with his jumper. If he drove all the way to the basket rather than settling for pull-ups and floaters, his percentages from the perimeter would be better.

After selecting a wing and a forward, the Spurs now go with a guard. Washington can comfortably play without the ball alongside Dejounte Murray while also providing support as a long-term secondary shot-creator. The Spurs have never relied on one player to generate buckets anyway.

PLUSES
Looks like a point guard who studies moves from great point guards who weren’t reliant on athleticism, such as Chris Paul, with his stutters and head fakes as he runs the pick-and-roll. He can tap or slam on the brakes, always shifting tempo to keep the defense guessing. He sees the whole floor and can make every pass, whether it’s a lob, a dish to a cutter, or a kickout.
Lethal midrange scorer who makes 52.5 percent of his floaters and 43 percent of his dribble-jumper 2s. He has every move he needs to become a potent 3-point shooter with side steps and stepbacks, though he’s made just 30.4 percent of dribble-jumper 3s at Kentucky.
Washington wasn’t asked to run off many screens to shoot 3s in John Calipari’s offense, but his ability to set his feet and launch jumpers using handoffs is an indication he could develop into a threat with or without the ball.
Lengthy defender who made progress from a fundamental standpoint throughout the season, showing increased awareness with rotations and better positioning navigating the perimeter.
MINUSES
Lacks the explosiveness to score at the rim or draw fouls, which will put a cap on his scoring upside unless he becomes an incredible 3-point shooter. His lack of burst when turning the corner in the pick-and-roll is also worrisome.
He has yet to translate his shooting touch to 3-point range with any consistency. He made only 36.4 percent of his catch-and-shoot 3s.
He’s not a great athlete and lacks quickness, which affects him on defense when fighting through screens. He also lacks great defensive versatility.

Draft day is finally here, and the expectation is that things could begin to get wild once the Kings are on the board with the fourth overall pick. But that may be a bit late, as on Wednesday it was reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Pistons and Trail Blazers have agreed to a trade centered around Jerami Grant. In exchange for Grant, the Pistons will receive a 2025 first-round pick (via Milwaukee; top-4 protected) and a 2025 second, with the two teams also exchanging 2022 second-round picks (Detroit's 36th overall for Portland's 46th overall). And this isn't all, either. Denver will receive a 2025 second-round pick from Portland, with Detroit receiving the most favorable 2026 second-round pick between Portland and New Orleans.
The exchange of 2022 second-round picks isn't a huge deal here. What is? Portland holding onto the 7th overall pick, which could be included in another trade. According to Yahoo's Chris Haynes, that selection could be used in an attempt to acquire Raptors wing OG Anunoby. With the Trail Blazers rebuilding around Damian Lillard, time is obviously of the essence with regard to building a contender. It's quite clear that the front office is going all out in its quest to construct a rotation that can be a factor in the West.
With that bit of business cleared up, let's get into the final pre-draft mock, with the betting lines offering up a major curveball in the early hours of Thursday morning. Paolo Banchero, whose odds of going first overall improved earlier in the week, was being listed on multiple sportsbooks as the favorite to hear his name called first (-200 on PointsBet, with Jabari Smith second at +120). To say that shift is interesting would be a major understatement. And the lines would shift in the opposite direction once Wojnarowski reported on Thursday that a top three of Smith, Chet Holmgren, and Banchero appeared to be "increasingly firm."

First Round
1. Orlando: PF Jabari Smith (Auburn)
Smith was the betting favorite to be selected first overall, with PointsBet listing his odds at -450 as of Wednesday night. And after that strange period in which we saw Banchero's odds receive a significant boost, Smith is back on top of the boards. The former Auburn standout's offensive skill set is enticing, even with the need to continue to improve his scoring in the mid-range, and he's also a solid defender whose motor cannot be questioned. Depending upon the matchup, Smith can be used at either the four or the five, and in time the three may be included if the young phenom can tighten up his handle. With there still being no concrete timetable for a Jonathan Isaac return to the court, adding Smith to the fold can help in that regard as well.
2. Oklahoma City: C/PF Chet Holmgren (Gonzaga)
Many have viewed Holmgren as the most likely alternative to Smith to be the first overall pick, but that may not be the case based on the shift that occurred early Thursday morning. PointsBet has the former Gonzaga center at -130 to be selected second overall, and Oklahoma City would be a very good fit for Holmgren. Being able to have him progress alongside Aleksej Pokuševski would make for a very interesting watch in Oklahoma City, and the Thunder also have young frontcourt players such as Darius Bazley and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl on the roster. Fantasy-wise, the biggest concern would be Oklahoma City not hesitating to shut Holmgren down late in the season, as they did with Josh Giddey.
3. Houston: PF Paolo Banchero (Duke)
As noted above, Banchero's odds of going first overall experienced a boost earlier in the week, and there has now been another shift in his favor. Banchero was the betting favorite to go first overall as of early Thursday morning, but that has since changed. The former Duke standout heading to Houston would make him an incredibly valuable fantasy rookie due to his playmaking ability, and the fact that the Rockets have been operating without a "traditional" point guard, with Kevin Porter Jr. filling that role last season. Also, those hoping for an Alperen Şengün fantasy breakout should not be too concerned, as he and Banchero can play alongside each other.
4. Sacramento: PF Keegan Murray (Iowa)
This is where things could get fun. It's been reported that the Kings could be interested in moving this pick if the price is right, with Jaden Ivey (-171 to go 4th overall on PointsBet) being targeted by multiple teams. If not, who will be the best available player on Sacramento's board? A case can certainly be made for Ivey, but there are questions regarding the fit due to the presence of De'Aaron Fox and Davion Mitchell. Another option would be Murray, a versatile forward who was one of college basketball's most improved players this past season. As of Thursday morning, Murray was listed at +150 go be selected here by PointsBet.
5. Detroit: PG/SG Jaden Ivey (Purdue)
As noted in the introduction the Pistons have already been active, making the deal that will send Grant to Portland. Ivey would be an interesting fit here with the Pistons having selected Cade Cunningham last season. The partnership of Cunningham and Killian Hayes did not work, with both playing their best basketball down the stretch, as Dwane Casey did more to stagger their minutes. Ivey would be a better fit alongside Cunningham due to the combination of athleticism and perimeter shooting ability, as Hayes has lacked the latter in his two NBA seasons.
6. Indiana: SG Bennedict Mathurin (Arizona)
The Pacers are another team that could be active beyond the draft on Thursday, as veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon's name has come up quite often in trade rumors. Given his recent injury issues, and the arrival of Tyrese Haliburton at the trade deadline, moving Brogdon and freeing up cap space could be appealing. Mathurin is a highly athletic off-guard who has made notable strides as a scorer. He defends his position well, and the tools that Mathurin brings to the table would help the Pacers account for Brogdon's exit if they were to make a deal.
7. Portland: SG/PG Dyson Daniels (G League Ignite)
The Blazers have already made one deal in an attempt to rebuild their roster around Damian Lillard; could this pick be moved in order to make another? Daniels' defensive ability is his calling card right now, but he did show signs of promise offensively as his lone season in the G League reached its conclusion. With this being a point in the draft where it may be tough to find players capable of helping a playoff hopeful immediately, it would not come as a surprise if the Blazers used this pick in order to sweeten another trade. In fact, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reported Wednesday night that Portland could look to use the 7th overall pick in an attempt to acquire Raptors wing OG Anunoby.
8. New Orleans (from Los Angeles Lakers): PG/SG Shaedon Sharpe (Kentucky)
Sharpe is the "mystery man" of this draft class, due to the fact that he did not play at all after joining the Kentucky program in January. New Orleans has a young, talented roster that will only get better with the return of Zion Williamson, and there may not be a lot of pressure on a lottery pick to contribute immediately for that reason. Reports of how Sharpe performed in pre-draft workouts have been all over the place, with some saying that he didn't exactly set himself apart from the field, and others being highly complimentary of the young guard. Being able to learn the ropes from a guard like C.J. McCollum wouldn't be the worst thing for Sharpe, and it should also be noted that Kira Lewis Jr. is still working his way back from a torn ACL.
9. San Antonio: C Jalen Duren (Memphis)
Duren is an athletic center who does the majority of his damage on both ends of the floor in the paint. He runs the floor well and is also a good rim protector, but the effort level has been an issue at times. San Antonio would be a good spot for him to land, between the presence of Gregg Popovich and the way in which the team makes use of its G League affiliate. With Jakob Poeltl heading into a contract year, and backups Zach Collins and Jock Landale both on partially guaranteed contracts for next season, that could factor into San Antonio's thinking there.
20. San Antonio (from Toronto): PG/SG Blake Wesley (Notre Dame)
At 6-foot-5, 185 pounds, Wesley offers size similar to that of current Spurs star point guard Dejounte Murray. Similar to the aforementioned Branham, Wesley does need to become more consistent with regard to his decision-making and perimeter shooting, but playing behind Murray would give him time to develop in those areas. San Antonio has also made good use of its G League affiliate when it comes to developing its young players, so Wesley could see some time there if the Spurs use one of their three first-round picks on him.
25. San Antonio (from Boston): SG Jaden Hardy (G League Ignite)
Similar to G League Ignite teammate Beauchamp, consistency is the key for Hardy with regard to his chances of being a successful NBA player. While he can be a player who scores in bunches, Hardy was a bit streaky as far as the accuracy is concerned. And as one would expect of many players his age, decision-making was also an area in which Hardy showed that there was room for growth. The Spurs have relied on the 3-point shot to the level that other teams have, most recently ranking 25th in attempts per game (and 18th in percentage) this past season. If he can improve the shot selection, Hardy is capable of being an asset offensively, which would help improve the Spurs' spacing overall.
38. San Antonio (from Los Angeles Lakers via Chicago and Washington): SF/PF Patrick Baldwin Jr. (Milwaukee)

Zach Braziller, June 23, 2022
9. San Antonio Spurs
Jalen Duren, Memphis (Center)
Experts see some Bam Adebayo in the one-and-done big man, an 18-year-old rim protector capable of so much more than he showed at Memphis. The Spurs, in need of frontcourt help, go for the uber-athletic Duren, eyeing him as a replacement for Jakob Poeltl.
20. San Antonio Spurs
Ousmane Dieng, New Zealand Breakers (Forward)
With three first-round picks, the Spurs can afford to take a big swing on a project like Dieng. There is major upside in the lanky forward prospect who did get better as his season in the Australian NBL progressed. But patience — and extended time in the weight room — are needed.
25. San Antonio Spurs
Wendell Moore Jr., Duke (Guard)
In each of his three seasons at Duke, Moore improved, his numbers rising across the board. Most importantly, his 3-point percentage increased to 40.1 this past season, as he evolved into a complete player capable of not only scoring at a high level, but distributing and defending. The high-IQ prospect has Spurs written all over him.

NBC Sports Philadelphia | NBA mock draft: If Sixers keep No. 23, going with an athletic 3-and-D wing
Brian Brennan, 21 hours ago AKA 22 June 2022
9. Spurs: Johnny Davis, G, Wisconsin
The Spurs could use another offensive threat to pair with Dejounte Murray and Davis has shades of DeMar DeRozan as a mid-range scorer. Like Murray, Davis exploded as a sophomore in the Big Ten, averaging 19.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. His shooting percentages weren’t great — 42.7 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from three-point range — but he was asked to carry a tremendous load for the Badgers. Davis plays with intensity on both ends of the floor and could form a dynamic two-way backcourt with Murray.
20. Spurs: EJ Liddell, F, Ohio State
The Spurs need help in the frontcourt and Liddell makes sense as a cerebral, 6-foot-7 power forward who can bring toughness, rebounding and shot-making. He’s not going to score effectively in the post like he did in college, but Liddell is now comfortable spacing the floor, shooting 37.4 percent from three in his junior season. The Grant Williams comparisons make a lot of sense.
25. Spurs: Gabriele Procida, F, Italy
It wouldn’t feel right to have the Spurs make three picks and not take at least one international guy. Procida is an intriguing wing scorer, a big-time vertical athlete at 6-foot-7. The Spurs can continue letting him develop overseas and hope that they have a diamond in the rough when he’s ready to come over.

Drom John | Projected stats version, modified by the too many mocks I've read
June 23, 2022
9) Tori Eason, Jeremy Sochen
Best available at 9 that won't be available at 20, so a slight deference to the scouts.
20) Walker Kessler
If the Spurs only had 9, then I'd pick Kessler. Best shot blocker available in the draft in the last 20 years.
I believe the only mocks that have Kessler going before 20 also had the Spurs drafting Duren. Not picking Duren/Mark Williams at 9 should keep Kessler availabe at 20.
25) Procida/Jovic
Four picks, I'd want a stash possibility.
38) Hyunjung Lee
Best catch and shoot prospect in the draft. Best shooter in the history of his midmajor college. 2nd best shooter at that midmajor (who has other basketball skills than just shooting) has done pretty well.
Trade I would like:
9 & 25 for 13 & 15.
Charlotte gets Duren, Spurs draft the same four, but upping the chance on Kessler being available.

Duren isn't really the type of floor-spacing big franchises prefer these days, but he's such a physical specimen and great athlete that there's probably a place for him in the top 10 of this draft. At worst, he should be a terrific rim-running and rim-protecting center who alters shots, dunks everything and is good enough guarding in space.

SI | 2022 NBA Mock Draft: Jabari Smith to Magic, Chet Holmgren to Thunder
Jeremy Woo, 6 hours ago AKA 23 June 2022
9. Spurs: Jalen Duren, C, Memphis
Height: 6' 11" | Weight: 250 | Age: 18 | Freshman
With the 20th, 25th and 38th picks also in hand, the Spurs are in a flexible position here, able to take whoever they like most and focus on positional contingencies later. With Dyson Daniels and Jeremy Sochan off the board, the upside of players like Shaedon Sharpe or Ousmane Dieng might be tempting, but San Antonio could also turn to Duren here. This is the high end of his range, which is thought to end with Charlotte at No. 13, but he’s likely to be the first center drafted. The Spurs appear open to finding a long-term solution up front, and Duren’s youth and physical gifts make him a fascinating development proposition as someone who could anchor the interior on both ends.
Although Duren is more of a traditional center, he holds some appeal as a long-term piece worth developing, particularly as one of the youngest players in the draft. He’s a powerful leaper with a mature frame, good hands and feet, and some untapped skill
potential. Teams have long held concerns over his inconsistent motor and occasionally questionable instincts, but if he puts everything together, he could become an upper-echelon player at his position, if perhaps not a true star.
20. Spurs (from Raptors): Blake Wesley, G, Notre Dame
Height: 6' 5" | Weight: 185 | Age: 19 | Freshman
Keep in mind that the Spurs may not wind up using all their picks to select players, as they value the flexibility of trying to move around in the draft. If they stay here, Wesley should be on their short list of backcourt options, as a bigger guard with untapped upside who could become a downhill slasher and agile defender. They can afford to take a chance on his potential here and won’t have to rush him into big minutes right away.
Wesley didn’t have a ton of high-level experience prior to college, so he is at an early point in his development curve and has shown some flashes of brilliance. He’s still quite raw and profiles better as a scoring combo guard than a true point, but he did a pretty good job carrying Notre Dame’s offense, all context considered. He’ll need to become a more effective catch-and-shoot player and sharpen his decision-making to make a smooth transition. His range starts at No. 16 and ends in the early 20s.
25. Spurs (from Celtics): MarJon Beauchamp, SF, G League Ignite
Height: 6' 6" | Weight: 200 | Age: 21
As mentioned previously, the Spurs may not actually roster all four of their draft picks, but in this scenario, they grab a wing after taking a big and a guard with the first two. Beauchamp’s stock has been in flux of late, but he has enough fans around the league that he may still come off the board in the 20s. His athleticism and length would be a good addition off someone’s bench, and he’d be walking into a stable situation where he won’t be asked to overstretch himself as a scorer. He has prototypical size and length on the wing, and if he can develop into a consistent shooter, there’s a reasonable chance he becomes a nice 3-and-D rotation player. The fact Beauchamp is still somewhat raw and inexperienced for his age has been a holdup for some, but he plays hard and looks the part.
38. Spurs (from Lakers): Gabriele Procida, G/F, Fortitudo Bologna

09 San Antonio Spurs: Jalen Duren
Team: Memphis
Year: Freshman
Position: C
Height/Weight: 6'10, 230 lbs
One of the biggest knocks on one of the best athletes in this year's class is Jalen Duren's lack of an outside game. Other than that, Duren is a phenomenal traditional center with outstanding strength and rim-running ability to be a true difference-maker. It's just the lack of a jump-shot that limits how high teams aspire to take the 7-foot center. One coach who clearly doesn't care about conventional thinking is Gregg Popovich. Having a top-five talent fall to your lap at No. 9 would be a great addition to a team that needs an answer to the five position with Jakob Poeltl hitting free agency after this season.
20 San Antonio Spurs (via Raptors): Jalen Williams
Team: Santa Clara
Year: Junior
Position: SF
Height/Weight: 6'5, 209 lbs
No one had a better Combine than Santa Clara's Jalen Williams. He's risen from a mid-second-rounder to a first-round prospect after wowing executives in Chicago. Williams showed he can play in a variety of different roles depending on the lineup, primarily as a bucket-getter with a two-way impact.
25 San Antonio Spurs (via Celtics): Nikola Jovic
Team: Mega Basket (ABA League/ International)
Age: 19 on draft day
Position: SG/SF
Height/Weight: 6'10, 209 lbs
Jovic would be a lottery ticket draft pick where they would bet on his long-term upside despite the fact they are ready to compete now. Jovic is very mobile for his size and has a good feel for creating his own shot off the dribble. He's also a creative passer. It may take a few years, but he's worth taking a chance on in this range.
38. San Antonio Spurs (via Lakers): Jean Montero, PG (Overtime Elite)

My thought is the Spurs are going to go with Malakai Branham with the 9th pick. Pop knows they need shooters and he may be the best. He fits Pops small ball mentality and is that pick no one saw coming, a Spurs trademark.
Guess I was partially right.
