A man who drowned in an Arizona lake last month begged for help — but local cops didn't rescue him.

"I'm not jumping in after you," one cop told Sean Bickings before he drowned, according to a police transcript.

The three Tempe police officers who didn't step in were put on paid leave as authorities investigate.

A man drowned in an Arizona lake last month and as he pleaded for help, struggling in the water, local cops standing by refused to rescue him, according to officials and a police body camera footage transcript.

Precisely. The waste of space was trying to be a big shot, fucked up & found out.

They told him repeatedly not to get in the water, and he did it anyway. Cops also aren’t trained to rescue drowning people. They didn't do anything wrong here, aside from possibly having a dickish attitude.

I like swimming but I'm not going after anyone short of a family member or a close friend with how high of a risk of drowning I'd be putting myself at with someone panicking who might take me under.

Attempting a water rescue without prior training can be dangerous for the would-be rescuer, and organizations that teach water safety (https://www.emra.org/books/emra-ems-essentials/chapter-14-water-rescue/) often emphasize the phrase "Throw, Don't Go." According to the Red Cross (https://www.redcross.org/content/dam/redcross/atg/PDFs/Take_a_Class/Reach_or_throw_dont_go.pdf), the "one thing you do not want to do" when helping a drowning person is to "jump in the water to help."

That's your first cogent post in a coon's age, fart-face.

Congratulations.

SCOTUS has ruled that law enforcement has no obligation to protect citizens.

The drowning man was not entitled to protection
