Yup, you heard it right, here's how it works, if you hand them your bible, they'll give you porn instead.

I tell you, these Atheists, if they don't believe in God, then why don't they just start boycotting money? "In God We Trust"

I'm an agnostic with a strong leaning towards atheism (don't know if there's a god...don't really care...but I have serious doubts) and I gotta say that's just not right. I have a bunch of friends who run the gamut from devout catholic to born-again, and we get along just fine because we have an understanding...you don't try to shove your beliefs down my throat and I won't mock your faith. To go out there and go out of your way to mock other people's faith in the most offensive way you can think of (and offering to trade scripture for porn is about as offensive as it gets) is just bullshit and TOTALLY counterproductive. All it does is make people view atheists and agnostics as assholes...it's not going to win anyone over to their (my) side.

Not that I have anything against porn mind you :smokin

Christians are lost, but they don't know it. They think they have the answer, but nobody really does. That frightens some people. Some people are just assholes, whether they are atheists are christians. Don't say god bless them when your faith says they are going to hell.

I say Godbless them because I want God to Bless them because I DON'T WANT THEM TO GOTO HELL.

True Christians are NOT Lost. I'm not lost. And I do have the answer. The Answer is Jesus Christ. Now YOU have the answer too.

Nice to meet you Mr. Collins. :tu

By the way, I have NO FEAR. ZERO.

I'm not perfect. I'm a sinner. We all are. We all fall short of the Glory of God. We are all guilty. We are all the same. I am better than NO ONE on this earth. But guess what? NO ONE is better than me either. That is TRUE Freedom brother. And I thank Jesus Christ Everyday for that knowledge, that I TRULY BELIEVE. Now YOU KNOW THE TRUTH TOO...what do you choose?

But let me tell you this. I don't judge others. I can't. I won't.

I'll judge myself 1st and foremost.
I'll point the finger...but only in a mirror. Everytime. Guaranteed. But i will evaluate others actions for my own personal knowledge and spiritual growth.

What about you? What's YOUR story?

or do you just like calling people assholes without looking into why they might exhibit their behavior?

Thanks in advance. :tu

And May GODBLESS YOU! :angel

[QUOTE=cecil collins]Christians are lost, but they don't know it.
Of all of the posters in this forum you are as tunnel visioned as they come and that makes you one of the least qualified to come up with a conclusion like this.

Don't say god bless them when your faith says they are going to hell.
God Bless them is a broad term and your wrong if you think its meaning is limited to God doing what you interpret as Him blessing them.
Asking God to Bless someone in their state of mind means having Him do whatever it takes to help them to see the folly of their ways while simultaneously seeing the virture of what Christians believe is taking the pathway that leads to eternal life.

Newdow sues U.S. Treasury over ‘In God We Trust’

Christian Examiner staff report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Atheist Michael Newdow, who has challenged the Pledge of Allegiance for its “under God” phrase, filed a lawsuit Nov. 18 against the U.S. Treasury department seeking to have “In God We Trust” removed from American currency.

The phrase “In God We Trust” has been the official U.S. motto since 1956.

The suit was filed with U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Jay Sekulow, chief counsel for The American Center for Law and Justice, will represent members of Congress, who have also been sued in this action.

"Our national motto, 'In God We Trust,' is not only permissible, but constitutional as well,” Sekulow said in a news release. “This lawsuit is another attempt to use the legal system to remove a legitimate reference to the religious heritage of America—in this case banning the motto of the United States.

"Litigation filed by Michael Newdow must be taken seriously, since he has now twice attempted to have the pledge declared unconstitutional."

The pledge issue, originally dismissed on a technicality, is currently in its second round after Newdow led several other parents in filing a similar suit. That case is now under appeal.

Last year, in the first pledge try, the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the case saying Newdow, who filed the suit on behalf of his minor daughter, lacked standing to file the suit since he did not have legal custody of the child.

Sekulow is vowing to fight Newdow’s latest suit all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Mere acknowledgment of God by the government cannot be said to be 'establishment of religion,' such that it would violate the Establishment Clause of the United States Constitution," Sekulow said. "The nation's history is replete with examples of acknowledgment of religious belief in the public sector.”

Sekulow also cited the reference to a Creator and inalienable rights featured in the Declaration of Independence.

“The founders recognized that rights and liberties derive from an authority higher than government, which means that government cannot take these rights and liberties away."

Newdow is a member of the Christian Coalition in disguise, I'm convinced.

Just like PETA is an organization secretly run by the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

I could say the same about you.

To look into every single persons behavior is impossible. I can observe someone as I know them and decide their character on the fly. But to give everyone the benefit of the doubt is not my style. That being said, I don't dislike all Christians, and like your attitude. I care mostly about what kind of person one is and all and all you seem a good guy. I do judge people and I do dislike jochhejaam.

Still, it is pretty insulting to say that atheists are lost. Surely they are not all mentally incapable of logical thought. Having a navigator doesn't automatically make a spirituality true or right.

How misinformed we are. Being an atheist merely means that you don't believe in a deity. You can still be spiritual or believe in eternity. Belief in a deity is not a prerequisite to either of these.

There are some Eastern religions that are atheistic.

I know it doesn't make sense in our close-minded Judeo-Christian worldview, but it's true.

"fucked and going to hell"

A key plank in the "Christian" political program and essential group membership re-inforcements/scare tactics is that outside of MY particular group of $flavor Christ, you're going to hell.

(note that for some reason, there a lots of flavors of Christ, esp in USA where just about any sonofabitch thinks he/she can start up a new outlet of the Christ franchise industry, sorta like starting a business. Actually, it's pretty clear starting a church/congregation in the USA very often is nothing but a (show) business, and then they hit the suckers with the Bible-says-to-tithe guilt-trip sermons to make the shake-down pay off.)

EXACTLY the same on the Muslim side, where non-Muslim "infidels" are not only going to hell, but there's a standing fatwa to kill them, too.

Of course, all these mail-order ministers and clerics claim a high-speed, broadband, always-on link to the Mind of God, which is part of the $scam. Even Mad King George deludes himmself as having been chosne specifically by God to invade Iraq.

I saw the news report last night and found the concept very offensive. I just wonder if UTSA would allow a Christian group to have a table advertising giving up porn in exchange for a bible?

BTW - there were only 5 people who made the swap - not too impressive for the atheists! They said they were mostly getting angry confrontations - which makes me think this is just a publicity gimmick and an "in your face" insult to Christians.

Really - I have to pity these poor fools who think the Bible and pornography are the same "smut." It would be interesting to be there when they stand before Almighty God and have to give an explanation for their little stunt!!

Not really a sanctimonious statement

How is it the case that atheists are necessarily without a guide and lost? There can have a number of guides - love, compassion, their own conscience, etc.

The only guide they don't have is the guidance of a deity that, let's be honest, doesn't really guide anybody anyway, as he doesn't really speak to anyone directly, except for maybe Pat Robertson and George W.
