Kid worked his ass off after slipping in the draft, came back strong from an ACL tear, embraced a leadership role and did everything the franchise asked of him. Even I was skeptical of him and he proved me wrong.

Good luck in ATL tbh, hopefully he signs elsewhere in 2 years tho :lol

DJ was one of my favorite players as of late. Can’t thank him enough for how he much he supported the players and Pop during his time here. But also thank god we aren’t the ones that will give him max money.

Will always root for Dejounte. It was a blast watching him grow as a player. He's not especially naturally talented but he worked incredibly hard and wasn't afraid to push himself to his limits.

He was also the last real connection to the Golden Years. TP telling Dejounte his time had come to lead the Spurs minutes after tearing his quadriceps sounded like the makings of the tale of how the Spurs extended their greatness beyond the Big Three Era. Unfortunately, that's not how the story ended.

And he was professional. Especially on his way out. SA fans should appreciate that aspect more than anyone after what Kawhi did. DJ being a legit Spur and making sure SA ended up ok on way out.

He was a class act showed other players you work hard keep your head up and believe in yourself you can do any thing. I whish him many more All Star selections and hope he has a long career.

I'm really happy the team got Pop that record last year and Murray got SA another All-Star appearance. Last year mattered as a fan. I know folks wanted to tank, but I'm glad they didn't. These are good memories. They aren't rings, but just like the 2015 SL title, it's one of those little things that makes being a fan fun.

At the moment I'm disappointed with the terms of the deal, though given the way it's structured, the right knee blows up and the whole thing does a 180. But either way, one important takeaway is Dejounte's statement put the nail in the coffin on the speculation by some here that the Spurs had mishandled his situation and that it would backfire on our youth. If anything, he's shouting to the world how much the franchise has done for him to be where he is, and the young guys should relish the opportunity that opened in front of them. I certainly like them a lot. Here's to hoping they make the most of it.

Good luck Dejounte. I wish your wish for stardom and individual accolades come true :lol But truthfully, the Spurs will be hoisting a trophy before Hawks would ever do. I wish the Spurs high lottery picks courtesy of Dejounte :lol

The only thing I knew about Dejounte was I got tired of yelling at the tv for him to shoot it. Dude was never guarded and was always hesitant. No love lost here. Time to win.

His game is flawed and his twitter-happy fingers is not Spursy. He would only take the Spurs so far, and he would be asking Max contract. It was the right move. Spurs sold high. They have options to either use those picks to draft or package to trade for that player they can build on.

Likewise I see Primo as the more steady player, no unnecesary cockiness, just confidence. Vassell likewise. I have no problem with Keldon despite Klutch. He loves Pop. Poeltl is weak and has to go. Sochan is another alpha I like.

Brahnam seems soft spoken but shows his game on the court. Blake is the concern. He could be a littke cocky, I’m sure he’s an alpha. I have the feeling he likes to compete asap. Let’s see if he lines up.

Damn going to miss DJ, he was one of my favorite players other than the Big 3. Instagram baller turned into the first home grown AS Spur since the Big 3 and Nephew, and the odds were heavily against him. I’m going to for sure follow him for the rest of his career.

The thing about Dejounte Murray is that he is a natural leader. A kid, who sets the tone. The Hawks are damn lucky. Both Murray and White were nice, cogent pieces who should have stayed if we had another star to helm the show. Sad to see them leave. Two Spurs who embodied what the franchise was in similar yet different ways.

I felt the Spurs would have won that series and destroyed the Warriors mentally like how the Lakers did to the Spurs in '01.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching Dejounte grow into an All-Star. I was skeptical even until about 2019 then he took what seemed like a massive leap overnight, and then another one a year later.

Will always be welcome back in SA! Who knows, maybe he signs here in 2 years if things don't work out in Atlanta :lol

That 2017 Spurs team was so good. And if there's one guy who wasn't intimated by the Warriors 'aura' like a few teams were, it was Neph and Pop. Neph was giving it to that Warriors team throughout the regular season, and during Game 1.

Fuck Zaza, whenever I see that goons face I clench my fist tbh. Warriors fans love him, rightly so given he was their 2017 MVP.

And LMA was still very much at the top of his game offensively and defensively at that point. Neph truly fucked an organization and fanbase's plans. Fuck that guy all the way to his core.

Spurs didn't want to pay the man what he was worth, a bitter pill to swallow as a fan. Wonder if good Holt would have paid him?

Definitely gonna miss him. Definitely enjoyed watching him grow both as a player and a person. I remember when he came back from that injury, he was just flexing and puffing his chest. The next couple of years, he seemed to have mellowed down on that the better he got.
