Looks like nobody cares here on ST but we’re now at the semifinals.

Many great NBA players, maybe the best actually with Giannis, Doncic and Jokic, involved.

A lot of surprises all along the tournament with elimination for Serbia (Jokic) in 1/8 finals, and elimination for Greece and Slovenia in 1/4 finals. Doncic team has been kicked out yesterday by Poland, I’m pretty sure Sochan kind of regrets not being there.

Semifinals will oppose France to Poland and Germany to Spain.

Go France ! 🇫🇷

Darn, would have been great to have Sochan there just for the experience. He's not likely to play in big games like that with the Spurs this season :(.

As a French guy I’m glad he’s in SA at the moment

France had two very weird games in 1/8 and 1/4. They were ahead then got caught up, behind and got their wins thanks to opponent’s FT misses in the last seconds that allowed them to go in overtime. And they just rolled over the opposition in overtime.

One time is already crazy, but twice the same scenario is just insane. It’s a torture to watch and a huge relief at the end.

I honestly don’t know what to expect against Poland. We should have played Turkey then Serbia and then Slovenia. Instead of that we got Turkey, Italy and now Poland. It’s kind of a royal path to the finale and maybe the title since all big teams are gone now, but they’re so impredictable…

The game is tomorrow at 5:15 pm Paris time.

Yea well I was not watching any games. Just the last one ending. I mean polish team. It's kinda biggest success in Polish senior basketball tbh.

They were defeated by Spain in 1/4, but yeah, Markkanen had huge performances during the competition. Between him, Doncic and Giannis we had several players above 40 pts for one game or more (I think Doncic had at least 2), and it’s not that often during a Eurobasket.

Germany killed Greece and Giannis ... that was a lot of fun!

Many specialists state that Germany is the best team so far, while they weren't not seen as potential winners at the beginning of the tournament. France lost to them on the very first game of their group, it would be nice to have a revenge game in finale.

France-Poland in a bit more than 1 hour now !

I read a tweet by him that was mixed English and Polish and contained the words wisdom teeth. Maybe he had the surgical extraction?

Who knows but I’m not mad. He is a young kid who needs to get situated for his big boy job… Eurobasket would have been a rounding error in his development. Personally I think he will be a rare rookie that steps in full time with the big club from day one.

+41 in the end. Easy game indeed, Doncic must be mad right now…

We’ll see who we’re playing in finale, I’d like to get Spain because we need many revenges against them.

Damn, really would have loved that one in order to give Basketball in Germany a push just like in '93.

Congrats to Spain nontheless.

Still GO FRANCE!

Very surprising Spanish team, nobody saw them in finale at the beginning of the tournament. But I’m confident, France had a very impressive win against Poland, especially in defense. If they can play like that in finale it should be ok.

Any Landale-type signings (obviously one that’s more successful) the Spurs could get out of this tournament?

Lorenzo Brown?
Mateusz Ponitka?

This Spanish team still getting results much like the Argentinian team, with a lot less talent than they used to have, but very cohesive, well coached teams that outperform their expectations. I suppose I should feel happy, since Argentina won the Americup (very diluted with the teams USA & Canada sent, which is honestly the only way that could have happened) and Spain winning the Eurobasket, since technically I am Spanish as well (holding dual passport), but I've never been able to bring myself to feel excitement or joy over their results. Still, their performance over the past couple of decades is just ridiculously high, well deserved.

Is that Spurs legend, Juancho Hernan Gomez, leading the charge for Spain?

Not sure about that. I can tell that Yabusele who played in Boston and is now in Madrid seems to have really improved, he might have another chance in NBA.

That was a big surprise, but they deserved their win. Very good coach and even without superstars like the Gasol’s brothers, they played really well. And Rubio was out too. France trailed all game long and never managed to come closer than 10 pts.

He was Kevin Durant last night…
