I think they will run a play for McDermott to get him off on the right foot of shooting more 3s per game. It will happen in the first quarter of the first game

No way even the Spurs go a full quarter without a made 3 on their first game (or most games, really). A quarter is a long time, and 3's are the layups of this current generation.

I'm picking Vassell, if nothing else because I'm hoping he steps up this season, and starts "taking it for himself". Would love to see some hunger and maybe even a bit of selfishness from him as he develops - he kind of slips between the cracks otherwise, and that's not good on a team with as many mouths to feed as these developing Spurs.
