Read a couple discussions on Reddit about Trevor Noah leaving, surprised by the number of people that soured with him & the show.

Did anyone else grow up watching Stewart and steadily lose interest or even stop watching completely. Supposedly Noah managed half the viewers of Stewart.

Odd comedic delivery style
Foreigner judging American politics
Not firm enough in his stance
Too much Woke/BLM content
No one could fill Jon's shoes

These were the main issues I kept reading. Supposedly his behind the scenes (less scripted content) was solid.

used to watch jon stewart quite a bit. not necessarily daily, but definitely multiple times a week.

tried watching noah's version of it a few times, but just didnt click with me the same way. he can still be funny, but the whole atmosphere of the show was just different and lacked that spark imo. i think i watched maybe 5-6 episodes of his, and wasn't hooked.

best thing daily show has done in recent years is the montage/clip collection on social media

He wasn’t a good as Stewart. But, in fairness part of the lack of drawing viewers is the way people consume shows now. Stewart was airing during the golden age of cable tbh

That guy is painfully unfunny. Comedy Central had to be kicking themselves that they let John Oliver jump to HBO right before Stewart quit.

I don't understand how he lasted 7 years, he wasn't good

He can be funny at times. But the show just came off as too whiny about current events moreso than comedy.

For the record it is believed that Jon Stewart hand picked Trevor. He was essentially unknown in American culture and I believe had only been in the USA for a matter of months. He was definitely the newest and youngest on the cast.

Mass consolidation of broadcast media is going very well. Free market triumphs, etc

I don’t think the problem with Noah is that he couldn’t draw laughs
