I always forget that when you copy from twitter, you have to re-format here with the tweet brackets.

What's the guy's winspan? It's listed at ONLY 6'10.5"

It's obvious that he can block and steal because of his length.

the thing is he got drafted as a 3-level scorer. Pop needs to find a way to unleash his offensive game. He's elite on D

He was a #14 pick that we basically got as a throw in. If he develops it can offset the loss of Primo. Lots of potential if his head stays in the game.

I commented on his highlights guarding LeBron before when he was a rookie. That’s crazy if Pop could unleash his offense because this kid is a defensive catalyst. And we got his as a throw in? Damn.

Romeo has game. I never questioned that tbh. the question was always about his motor and his injury problems. If this young man ever puts it together spurs got a damn good return on the white trade

The defensive ability immediately stood out watching him last night.
The offense needs to improve quite a bit but if can just add a consistent 3 pointer....

Funny, in college and high school he was known as a scorer, and in the NBA he looks hesitant to get his shot off.

Seems Like it’s all between the ears for him. This just might be the perfect situation for him to show he deserves another contract.

Yeah he doesn’t look like he has the highest Ball IQ he kinda reminds me of one of my stoner friends in High School

I’ll need to iso on his team defense next, but his on ball is elite. You can’t cross him over. He reacts back in the blink of an eye.

Meh Primo was nothing more than a sex offender version of Alfredrick Hughes

Same draft class as Keldon Johnson. He should learn from Keldon. He's a better defender, but both players are good at finishing in the paint.

I think against college talent, he could score at will in the paint. Not against the NBA pros though. Keldon developed a 3pt shot, Romeo needs to do the same. If he only put in as much energy as Keldon, he would be a top talent. I can see though that he takes defense seriously.

If he's got anything to contribute, that's already more than I was expecting from him. But that's a grain of sand in the desert. I want to see some consistency, even at a small role. If we've found a keeper, that's awesome. Getting out of the way might end up being Primo's biggest contribution.

Motivation is his main challenge it seems. I expect some lackluster games based on the past, but hopefully not. He looks super athletic from his college tape. I think he has a history of injuries? Either way, excited to see if Pop and Brown can turn him around.

If the Beautiful Game isn’t working sometimes, how about:

Tre Jones
Devin
Romeo
Sochan
Yak

A real defensive lineup for sure. The Ugly Game? Pop is no stranger to that, either. Sort of like a knuckleball to throw off the other team.

At worst he’s got better defending Danny Green vibes. Would be something if he actually developed into something.

This lineup is brutal, we will be doing the opponent's D a big favor

Let's not go overboard just yet, but it's definitely a great sign to see him motivated and contributing. He's very young, if he pans out the Celtics trade will end up like an armed robbery.

Apparently, Pop has jumped overboard, since he’s the one that picks the film clips.

No harm in giving the kid his props when he's earned them.

If he were to get have a poor game against Raps tomorrow, then Pop would be just as likely pull that tape to discuss where he went wrong.

He's also the one to mention Duncan when talking about Jakob, and Manu & Avery when talking about Tre, so I would take whatever Pop says these days with a grain of salt.

I love that Pop is trying to hype up Langford. Langford right now reminds me of fat Bobcats Diaw in that the skills and smarts are there, he just isn't motivated and doesn't care enough to put in the effort. If Pop can light a fire under Langford and get him to play with energy and confidence, the Spurs may have something nice.

Is there any evidence that he's not motivated? Langford may just be a guy who doesn't display a ton of emotion for whatever reason.

He looked dead for most of the preseason. Lackluster, just going through the motions. It may have been when they cut Weezy and kept him that sparked him.

Lots of people have said this. Do you think he looked like that because he didn't want to be on the Spurs, as in, he was trying to get cut to go to another team, or is this just his personality where he needs someone to light a fire under his ass?

I think there's a lot of just reading his facial expressions, which he has none. Afaik, he hasn't done interviews much, so he's just been background. Maybe he has thought he was heading elsewhere. But he clearly knows the plays on both sides of the ball, so he's been paying attention and doing the work.
