Very interesting. Thought this guy’s career was done before it started lol. Makes sense. He had knowledge of the playbook already and is young

6’7 PG/SF, being as he has some system experience, wondering if they’re expecting him to see the floor soon

Yeah, will probably fill in for Wes while he’s out.

Bad for enjoying watching basketball but good for the tank and avoiding injuries to key players, I guess.

Dammit. They keep giving this guy chances for some reason. I guess Langford showed that patience can be rewarded, but I am not the biggest fan of them not looking elsewhere.

:lmao wtf? This guy should absolutely nothing during the preseason and SL. Lol spurs

He must’ve shown enough in practice, because he didn’t show much in the Pre-Season to warrant a contract.

So he gets cut to make room for Bassey... and then gets a promotion? Weird.

Maybe you missed the news for the last couple of weeks?
Team doesn't currently have a backup pg.

On a side note, looks like the Nets were in rslk with a western conference team in search of a shooter... And offering Simmons as a trade compensation. I don't know if somebody's will agree with me but, considering Brett Brown in now the main guy, apart from Pop, on our coaching staff, I have a sort of idea that this hipotetical move/trade looks possibly Spurs related...

Also, the mods should edit the title of the thread. The fact that the deal is not guaranteed matters here. The team seems to be expecting it to be temporary. It could explain why they aren't bringing in a different guard. Some might be holding out for an guaranteed deal. I think the need for depth at the position is a season-long need and believe they should just give a guaranteed deal for someone better.

The same could be said about Langford but he has started playing better as of late. Hopefully this is the case with Hall too. In the preseason he got 21 minutes in four games and was 1-8 from the floor and 0-5 from the three...

Nah, Langford actually had a couple solid games in the regular season last year and the last couple preseason games this season. Hall hasn't done anything to warrant a guaranteed roster spot. Langford is also a 1st rounder with guaranteed money. Not really a comparable situation tbh

Edit: tweet says non guaranteed, whoops

The title says guaranteed, but the tweet shows it's explicitly non-guaranteed.

yeah I think once a better option becomes available they will waive him ASAP

:lol This guy again. I've seen nothing from Hall to suggest he can play anything close to NBA level basketball.

But, tbh, I'm intrigued. First of all, Hall must be a beast in practices if they keep giving him chances. Secondly, since Hall likely won't play, that keeps a spot in the rotation open for Langford. Langford would have been bumped out of the rotation again soon but now the Spurs can shift Richardson to backup PG and play Langford at backup SG even when Vassell returns. I'm more interested in Langford than any guard on the free agent market so this move is better than signing some retread like DJ Augustin or whoever.

I would have preferred bringing in Jarad Butler and taking a look...but at least this guy doesn't raise our floor..

buckup for Jeremy?

Yeah, he's not slated to play and can fit right into practices. There weren't any surefire players readily available so getting a knowledgeable temp makes sense until other options open like maybe a G-League free agent who is playing well or someone comes back from overseas.

Actually, technically, this is his fourth contract I think :lol

1) Hall signed a summer league deal.

2) Hall then signed an exhibit-10 deal.

3) Hall then got his exhibit-10 deal upgraded to a two-way contract.

4) Hall now signs a non-guaranteed deal after getting released from his non-guaranteed two-way contract.

Well, shit. You’re right. For some reason I was thinking he went straight to a two way.

Agree on your two points. As the 15th player on the roster, this guy doesn't move the needle at all. Butler probably would have wanted guaranteed money though

Why him over Wieskamp tbh. Joe seems like the better player.
