I'll have someone look into it, thanks. Any idea which ads?

I'll see if I can save it the next time it happens. But its a website/ad that appears to say I need to scan/pay for McAfee, allow site to turn on site notification. Redirects me automatically as well

I don't see any adds tbh. Just use adblocker

there was an issue a few years back about domain spoofing, where you'd type in spurtalk.com and get redirected to a spam site. I think that may be what you described. I don't know if adblock has anything to do with that, from what i remember it's server side spam. They fixed it but it's beyond my reach to know what they did.

Those are still the most popular browser and antivirus to this day...

I use Chrome, Firefox or Edge depending, and you get the exact same crap. they're very similar anyway with lots of people moving from one company to another... Same with Safari, Opera or whatever... I mean, it's the tech world, there's not top secret codes or scripts... They all adapt.

Not because there's some trendy stuff that people who are "so much "smarter" use than it's better or worse... They're all based on the same stuff and copy each others, specially about security...

So yeah, whaterver antivirus will block malwares the same way, just like adblockers will block ads or spamming the same way whatever the browser...
