:lol Spurs are gonna win 12 games before the end of February then end up winning a bunch of meaningless games when other teams start blatantly tanking to end up with the 8th pick, aren't they?

Why did all the slogans with the requirement to give Bassey a long-term contract disappear?

The Hornets game I attended in October is the true mean of the team. Oh well - the Spurs seem to understand the big picture here and there are some nice players here that could be part of a contending team down the road.

Obviously - top of the draft talent is needed in multiple doses. It's going to be a slow climb back up the ladder - being on the first or maybe second rung is not fun.

And people were enraged at the mere mention that this roster needed a talent infusion... I'd like to see anyone challenge that now.

Depends on your goals

On a related topic, I do think Keldon is not 100%

Yeah full on tank mode. Welcome to the land of the tank.

True. If your goals don't involve the Spurs being a contender within the next 5 years, you can stay in the treadmill and push for the play in time and again.

this is easily Pop's best coaching season since 2017. Keep the tank rolling!!!!

Thanks for the grades. Shame to see Keldon playing so poorly. Vassell and McBuckets save it from being a complete bloodletting on national TV. Yep winning one against the Lakers would be nice. Happy Thanksgiving!

You do realize that even with high draft picks its still hard to get out of tanking. Sacramento, utah, Orlando and dallas aren't contenders despite having all tanked. High draft picks also are more likely to clog your cap and put your team into mediocrity

A bunch of bad, misleading examples: Utah didn't tank, Dallas did it once and got Luka (via swap with Atlanta for Trae Young), Orlando missed quite a few, and Sacramento is the most inept drafting team in the NBA. In any case, when you're in the predicament we're in and you need to get out of it, getting high picks give you better odds at top talent than getting lower picks, which usually leads to prospects that are either lower ceiling or lessed developed, taking more time and clogging your roster with fringe prospects (Primo anyone?). So between having a high pick and not having one, the choice is obvious.
