They’d need a reason. The league is cracking down on the injury list. They busted a team, I can’t remember which, for players either on it that shouldn’t be,or not on it that should have been. Silver has put teams on notice. If you’re at the bottom of the standings, there had better be no load management.

OKC are league darlings. They wouldn't touch them.

OKC has tons of casual fans because of the old days. They're up there with the Lakers and Warriors among bandwagoners.

So how does that make them LEAGUE darlings? If they were, wouldn’t the league have thrown them a #1 pick during their tankathon?

We're back to the days of making up injuries.

It's going to take some drastic decisions by the league to stop all the tanking. Going back to a totally flat lottery, using the pick wheel (which I think is a very elegant solution but most teams will hate it), etc.

I don’t think you want a totally flat lottery, but they could probably flatten it more than they have. If your intention is to stop tanking, a side effect of a totally flat lottery is punishing truly bad teams, since no one would tank under those circumstances.
