If it says, "starring Hulk Hogan", I'm out.

Incidentally, as far as any game I've every played, the first time I played the first GOW, it was by far the most ground breaking thing and addicting game I'd played. And nothing still doesn't really compare. I like Breath of Wild better but it wasn't a quick sell to me. This will certainly date me but the closest thing for me was Adventure on the Atari 2600.

when you say "first god of war" are you referring to the 2018 game that came out for the PS4 or the 2005 PS2 version

Man...I thought it was earlier than 2005. But that would have been the one. I remember I had to go out of town for several days and rented the game. Took my son's console with me planning on having some free time. I did a piss poor job for my company because I would play the game into the early morning, be late for what I was supposed to be doing, and then leaving early to get back and play the game.

its funny, i loved those games at the time. but when i tried playing even the remastered version of god of war 3, i really didnt enjoy that combat style nearly as much anymore having played the newer version.

but those games werent at long. those aaa ps2 games at the time like uncharted and whatnot were typically like 10 hours or so

imo the only way this series works is if they do it kind of like the witcher series

I haven't played a GOW since I had one on my Vita (maybe 9 or 10 years ago). It's not surprising that they don't hold up with the advancements since then. And I've gotten to the point that I can't stand learning new button configurations.
I think what I enjoyed most about it was that it combined a lot of action with a decent amount of puzzling. (not to mention, the fights were puzzles themselves). And at that time, the graphics were damn good compared to anything else out there.

of course the budget will be massive, it's Amazon :lol

People like to poop in Rings of Power, but I thought it was solid. The Expanse was amazing, and The Peripheral was awesome as well imo (books to screen adaptations). They also did good adapting The Boys and Invincible (comics to screen adaptations). I think it'll be solid. curious what storyline they are going to start with though

they said its covering the Norse saga, so starting more or less with the 2018 game

i just feel like God of War would have been better off as an animated series. i mean hopefully im wrong...

You almost had me. I saw the "VIA Rick Astley" at the bottom and double checked.
Personally, I'm hoping for Tom Cruise.

Kinda disappointing. I feel like starting from the beginning would be better storytelling

tbh most of the greek saga is just an unfiltered violent rage monster on a rampage

can probably just have a few minutes of exposition in the opener, or a handful of flashback scenes to get the basic relevant plot points (ie his deal with Ares, death of his family, the ashes on his skin, origin of his blades, etc)

Wheel of Time is their only literature to screen adaption with legitimate issues that comes to mind. Fwiw, I did think that the show got better as it went along.

God of War will have the same showrunner as Wheel of Time

That is a bit of a concern, imo.

S2 is right around the corner, lets see how it goes. Amazon should def consider making changes if it happens to be poorly received.

SyFy set them up pretty good for Expanse, tbh. They have made some great shows, but for some reason it's last on my streaming apps to browse if I am out of things to watch.

Amazon gonna fuck this up like they did all their other IPs they bought the only series of theirs i like is the boys, but their fantasy shows have been lackluster with regards to their IP value, yeah some of the aren't bad, but they aren't good either.

Likely going to be decent.

-Stay away from SJW casting
- Focus on the more recent story - the old GOW overall story sucked
- good combat scenes etc.

Imo, it can’t be worst than 6/10 if they stay true to the current storyline.

Oh goodness, what if they SJW cast Kratos? Can you imagine, Kratos’ movements and voice being that of a black person? Just a bunch of SJW bullcrap!

i dunno, i'm not done with Ragnarok but honestly part 3 is probably my favorite GOW still and favorite story. depending on how long the series is they could have told the whole story. even an origin would be cool, before the events of the very first GoW

eh, either way i'll watch it though

Forgot about that one. I liked that series too :lol but havent read the books, actually got the first trilogy recently though. if GoW has the same showrunner I think it will be fine. it's always hard to really nail adaptations of beloved video games with the fanbase. Really arent many of them that diehard fans love

Part 3 didn’t really have a story tbh :lol. Just kratos wanting his revenge for previous games.

god of war I is the only one of the trilogy with deep enough story or plot to justify screentime
