Spurs Injuries: Devin Vassell (knee - OUT),

Warriors Injuries: JaMychal Green (leg - OUT), James Wiseman (ankle - OUT), Jonathon Kuminga (foot - OUT)

The San Antonio Spurs are playing at the Alamodome after 21 years, before what would be a historical over 64k attendance, playing against no other than the depending champs Golden State Warriors. Just for today, I want the Spurs to win. Let’s go Spurs! :flag::flag::flag:

thats awesome, i'm actually pumped.
i wish i could go to the game, it would be fun. dealing with the downtown traffic, great times.

but like OP said, lets try and get this win that would be great!

then lose 14 straight after this.

The Alamodome was already a shitty enough place to watch a game in its basketball configuration. Now lol 64,000 people paying to watch a game in its football configuration.

Yeah, I was on the fence about buying tickets...mostly just to say I attended the record setting game. Spurs are probably gonna get blown out.

That said, I wasn't gonna drop big bucks to do it and don't really feel like watching a game of ants from the nosebleeds, nor do I feel like driving from Austin through traffic or springing for a hotel.

Pretty cool they got the record though.

An upper deck ticket at Staples Center is far far superior to an upper deck ticket at the Alamodome, especially in football configuration.

This is hilarious. Now just to win 1 or 2 games by 60 pts to make our pt differential look decent.

Never thought the upper deck seats in the Dome in basketball configuration were too terrible. Certainly not great, but you could still generally tell what was happening.

All of that open space on the floor looks disgusting though. This is the same configuration as Final 4 I assume?

It's been open for 30 years, but the Alamodome still hasn't figured out how to host an event. I remember UTSA games where concessions were out of food at halftime or just simply closed. There was a Metallica show where they completely sold out of beer before the band even started. I expect plenty of drama around this one... maybe even a water cannon just for good ol' times.

John B

I saw the 2007 Spurs Riverwalk Championship Parade afterparty at the Alamodome and I saw the 2008 Final Four Championship Game at the Alamodome too.

The Spurs Parade Afterparty saw Bruce Bowen hog the microphone lol and of course the 2008 Final Four I saw Mario Chalmers hit a game tying three with seconds left on the clock over Derrick Rose with CDR recovering with help D.

Also saw some college football at the Alamodome A&M vs Army. And I saw the Texas State High School Marching Band State Finals at the Alamodome too.

No, even the Final Four 2008 was in basketball configuration too. With the court smashed all the way to one side and a big blue curtain cutoff down the middle.

Not sure why tonight is in football configuration, that will be extremely limited visibility for the nosebleeds

The 2018 Final Four in San Antonio had attendance of 68,000, so it must have been in Football configuration.

Found this photo of it... looks like they did a much better job of spacing the seats on the floor. https://media.bizj.us/view/img/5558891/final-four-floor2*750xx800-450-0-50.jpg

Success breeds jealousy, but in the Astro's case... I can understand.

Ehhh I'm not so sure about that. Actually I'm pretty sure that ESPN and the like despise the Spurs. I think they brainwashed the hell outta fans with that bias over the years. I also see what people post on social media, YouTube, etc and it's pretty clear most people don't like the Spurs as well. Again, it has alot to do with the brainwashing from ESPN. Honestly, I was upset at the Astros for cheating, like dissapointed in them, though don't get me wrong I stuck with them and am happy about the redemption chip. I will say this, it's already been said by players who've never even played on the Astros that they were made the scapegoats and we're absolutely not the only team that was cheating. I always figured that was the case anyways.

Not surprised by the outcome. When the opposing team “shows”’up to play - this Spurs team gets annihilated. GSW are front running show ponies, they were going to show up for this spectacle.

Hopefully the Spurs have put themselves in a position to start acquiring high end talent. They have to nail the next draft regardless of position.

did anyone go to the game that has pictures of the upper deck or could atleast say how full it was? I know the tickets were sold but I saw a lot of people trying to sell their tickets as well so wonder how many bought but did not show up as they only bought to resale.

Worst point differential Yeah I was thinking the same. We were setting records in multiple ways. When I originally saw this game what stopped me from going was thinking a colossal beatdown in front of over 65,000 people was not going to be fun.

I hope the fans had fun nonetheless.

There is a clip on spurs reddit of the crowd doing the wave that shows the full attendance in uppers and lowers and man I was really impressed how full the entire building looked. Pretty much every seat top to bottom was filled.

Thanks. I knew it would be pretty full. It looked like the corners were not packed but hard to tell. Im sure the tickets were sold but not sure how many showed up. I was glad they brought back the intro song from back then.

also looked like the "end zones" had more more sparsely seated people with little openings visible here and there. Feels like the angle was kinda tough in those sections with almost a head on or even below court viewing angle.

even the "50 yard line" seats down close were too head on with little to no elevated vantage point above the court looking down onto it. Almost better to be up in higher seating looking down for this one

i was seated directly behind the guy that got the wave going (club level). he was trying from the 2nd quarter on. at first, i was annoyed because he wouldn't quit and was obstructing my view but when he started again in the 3rd quarter, and the game was already in hand, we started to get behind him. it took a while to get the nearby sections to cooperate and he had to yell down below (he was in the 1st row) to get the lower level to join in. but after about five minutes, it started to gather momentum. once we got about a third of the dome to get going that was all it took. that dude was so happy. i'm sure it made him even happier to see that ESPN even acknowledged it and that reddick even participated. very cool stuff. and that's what made the night so great. just lots of little details that really demonstrated what being a spurs fan is all about.

Classic moment, what a night. It was a really fun idea to bring the town together and set a record.
