I guess whoever gives them two unprotected firsts will get him. Though if I'm taking a deal from Dallas those picks are for 2026-27 and 2028-29 in the hope Doncic has walked in 26-27.

If ifs and buts are …. Barkley didn’t. And there’s a huge difference wasting your prime on a team with Tim perry and missing the playoffs while you are an mvp candidate during magics and Jordan’s prime as compared to a third string off injured malcontent who’s off court distractions gets more news time than his on court production.

We can agree on that. The league has gone soft on the players and they are now running the asylum. The players then followed suit and went soft on the court. The fans are now getting held hostage but kept being stupid and pay $150 for a nosebleed seat, $15 for a beer and $30 for parking while watching your favourite player in street clothes and the thirteenth man score the third 50 point game in the last 10 games shooting unguarded wide open threes and driving in the lane like it’s autobahn.

The league is incredibly talented that’s why there is an explosion in scoring

This. Not sure what to think of this even in short term. Irving is a huge upgrade over Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith became kind of expendable because of Green's improvement I guess. They're not that good at drafting so maybe won't miss that first round pick... but they also won't be able to use it in other trades now. No idea how Irving and Luka will mesh. Basketballwise I guess it will be fine but not sure how Irving being a headcase will go over and if Irving will accept Luka's the boss there.

Just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Don’t like it much at all for Luka. Kyrie is absolutely the best offensive playmaker / scorer Luka will have played with in his NBA career. But it doesn’t scream perfect fit, or even great fit imo. And all the peripheral, non-basketball shit Kyrie brings will likely allow Luka to finally get the sayings “fuck me” and “kill me now.”
Also doesn’t seem like a wise investment for Cuban. Seems like a bad gamble. However, he might just be at a breaking point knowing how garbage the rest of the team is outside Luka that he’s just making the move because in his mind he needed to do something big or possibly lose Luka in the future. And at least with a move like this, he can appeal to Luka saying he tried and swung for the fences even if it blows up in his face.

They did need a decent PG though. Playing with someone from halfway across the flat Earth could be rewarding for the native American Kyrie.

I think Dinwiddie was a better fit next to Luka but Kyrie has a much higher ceiling…

You think the Mavs will be able to keep Doncic when he's up for free agency in '26? Because if not that '29 pick Brooklyn got is gold and will probably be top 5. Could end up looking like trade Utah did with the Lakers for Gail Goodrich.

Mehh Mavs needed a prime Klay/Bradley Beal type next to Luka Simone that can catch and shoot but good enough to carry the team while he sat … an iso scorer like Kyrie is basically a Brunson on steroids… but less natural PG skills.
Plus why would kidd or Luka give the ball to a playmaker with less vision and a shoot first mindset?

I'm not going to agree that Kyrie has less natural PG skills than Brunson. Brunson just isn't the 1st option quality of Irving, so Irving will look for his shot first, and as well he should. "Point guard" doesn't automatically conjure up "pass first" images unless you're still love sick over Stockton.

Hahaha. 18 year old vets still putting up numbers and being an integral part of the team. Lebron putting up numbers that are comparable to his prime at like 40 Years old. Rampant jaw profusion drugs. Sochan a no skill offensive player putting up 30 points and Braham scoring 26 points in like his 15th game in the league or something like that. :lol What is it with Dallas sports owners and having this cuckold mindset of signing big-name players 5 years too late?
This is really a "championship or bust" type move for this season because one of three things are going to happen a) he'll go to LA in the offseason b) unlikely, but Cubes will sign him to a mega deal only for his body to start breaking down post-30 or c) he'll go full 'ooga booga' this season or next and sink the franchise/cause Luka to want out even sooner...
Either way, I like the chaos that this will inevitably bring...certainly more entertaining that inevitably bowing out in the first or second round with this limp dick roster. I wouldn't even call this "high risk/high reward" more like "high risk/medium reward"...still don't think they have what it takes to knocik off the elite teams in the West

The incoming haul is pretty weak. Dinwiddie, as much as I like him, is no longer the player he was pre injury. Finney smith is Pretty bad on offence. The FRP could be good but that’s a huge gamble. Two SRPs is the equivalent in value to like a McDermott or a Josh Richardson.
They should’ve traded him to the lakers for the two FRPs and just blow the team up. Trade Durant for picks and young talent.

Kyrie (possibly) being a Mav rental and NOT going to the Clippers is a dub for me tbh.
If he doesn't re-sign with the Mavs this summer, the Mavs depleted assets for nothing then my dream of him bolting for LA one day is live and well haha.
