This is good for Mamu, I think I really don't like the lineups with him and Sochan at the forwards, but I think them with three perimeter players will be interesting, and I think we'll see that at the start of second and fourth quarters. I don't think he's nearly as dynamic at PF, maybe so far as to say I don't think he'll be in the NBA beyond the next season or two if he can't move up successfully. At C, he still shows a lot of intrigue, and with a lineup of long and springy guys, I think he'd be fine on both ends, at least for where the team is nowadays.

This is also why Bassey jumped on the deal the Spurs offered and didn't try to hold out for free agency. Not only was he not at all likely to get a better APY anyway, but he hadn't made NBA money yet and wasn't in a position to pass over millions of dollars in guaranteed money. Now, he can go in the off-season with a contract in hand and can rehab with a team/medical staff already invested in him. Imagine how much worse it would've been for him if he had this injury as a pending free agent who flashed early but hasn't played all that well since. There's a reason why Hinkie specials get signed so often.

Sucks. I think McDyess had that injury on both knees and robbed him of his hops.

I think Mamu at C because he couldn’t stay in front with faster bigs. Now Barlow can, and could play PF for him

That’s too bad for Bassey. He needs all the Summer session with the team to develop. Get well soon

Thing is, he played several minutes after that fall. He grimaced but played on but eventually took it to the locker room.

If it's displaced it needs to be surgically repaired... And there's risk part of the fractured patella bones have damaged ligaments. Let's just hope it's just a fracture and that he could be ready for training camp next season...

It’s not CIA. CB went down in a heap, and stayed down for a while.

Pop had some good news on Charles Bassey, saying that his fractured patella never required surgery:"They put him in a walking cast for a while and it just has to heal."
