Not sure what you find unimpressive. He won the Big 12 title and took the team to the elite 8 in the midst of all kinds of controversy. They played great defense and ran a real offense for the first time in like a decade. And who exactly is the candidate that is better? There's no one out there that is established that is available. It's the right move.

Yeah pretty bland decision but who else would you want that you can get? He's pretty much the only option

He did not get those players. Can he get the studs?
UT has chewed up supposedly better coaches

And I do not know who is better but we got us a small college/ assistant for the lead dog

Exactly. He knows the kids and is already familiar with the culture. In a time when this team could have fallen apart he solidified them and put together a good run. Not sure what else he needs to do to prove he is the guy. I'm not saying it's guaranteed success but like you and I both said...who else are you going to hire?

I agree its not a sexy hire but all circumstances considered it's the right move. Texas recruits itself on one end and good recruiters and success do the rest. He has a good narrative to sell recruits in the season that just happened.

terry gave full offensive reign to bob donwald when he took over for beard.........gerry hamiltion said he expects donewald & all assistants to stay with terry & not join beard......

Maybe Kentucky will inquire about Terry for the open coaching gig.

Two extraordinarily ugly games with a win and a loss. The loss very winnable just due to effort.
The quaterfinals last year.
He goes nowhere else this next year.
You will have to live with it.

Its more likely the Baseball coach gets canned.
