Not going to be pretty. Keldon, Devin, and Jeremy all listed as OUT.

If Devin and Keldon are still out, that means we're serious about trying to get second best odds.

Shouldn't be that hard to lose out after tonight's game, every other matchup is in the playoff race.

But if we can't overtake the Rockets, I'd take beating the Mavs and knocking them out of the play-in on the final day of the season as a consolation prize. :lmao

Almost rather help the Mavs win that last game and ensure that top 10 protected FRP sends on to the Knicks lol just for Dallas to lose in the Play In/Playoffs anyway

Haven't looked at the odds, maybe this isn't possible mathematically but if so I say give it away lol

Have to sit kj and sochan for the remainder to possibly lose out. A tie with houston is still possible

Spurs losing this one potentially goes a long way to having HOU being more likely to catch SA for those who care about that. My prediction: If SA loses at least 2 of the UTA/POR/DAL games then HOU likely ties/leaps them in seeding.

Wesley has all the tools but man his touch is so bad lol. Ive sat pretty close and seen it personally how wonky the ball comes out of his hands on floaters etc…if he gains any consistency there he has something brewing..

With Charlotte's win streak, this is a nice "for good measure" loss tonight, since it really looks unlikely we will catch Detroit or Houston. Those teams just aren't budging on keeping their 1 and 2 spots respectively.

Both dedicated to the tank imo.

Detroit dead set on losing until #1 is clinched.
Houston making sure they lock up 2nd.

Maybe will catch Houston. Spurs only possible win is against tanking Portland.

They play against each other this Friday. Somebody has to win :lol
If HOU wins and Spurs loses to Dubs, then HOU and Spurs are tied, giving the Spurs the 2nd worst record, with HOU having the better division record than Spurs, for whatever it means.

Has nothing to do with draft positioning. Ties are broken by a coin flip.

Too bad Detroit lost. Had they won, they'd be within 1 game from Houston, and they'd have done everything in their power to throw the game.
As it stands, losing means more to Houston than it does to Detroit, so the latter can afford to try and win the game as the worst record is within reach regardless.

Just need HOU to tie Spurs to at least give SA a coin toss scenario.

SA: GS, SAC, PHX, POR, MIN, DAL (6 games left) - Spurs can beat POR, MIN, DAL, but at least MIN/DAL need to win. But Spurs win 1-2 games max it looks like.

HOU: DET, Lakers, DEN, CHA, WAS (5 games left) - HOU has 3 winnable games, but doubtful they win all 3. Just need them to win against DET and/or CHA/WAS too. They will not beat DEN or Lakers on paper.

Best case is SA loses next 3 vs GS/SAC/PHX and HOU beat DET before losing to LA/DEN.

Spurs & HOU tied with SA playing POR/MIN/DAL - Spurs beat POR and lose to MIN/DAL means HOU just has to beat one of CHA or WAS

Same. Not really sure how it actually works (it's a matter of implementation and ultimately irrelevant), but you can use a single coin to sort an arbitrary number of teams, like this:
1) Flip a coin for each team and partition the original group into 2 subgroups: those who got heads (winner), and those who got tails (losers)
2) Repeat procedure from 1 to further classify between each group, until each final class has only one team
You can sort 1 million teams with one coin following that procedure.

the record would only matter for the 2nd round. the first rd would be done by lottery of which the top 3 teams all have 14%. no reason to keep pushing for more losses.

Wrong. If teams fail to land a top 4 pick, their position is determined by record (worst to best), so it does matter. For instance: Detroit ends up worst, followed by Houston then Spurs. All three fail to land a top 4 pick (it's perfectly possible). Then Detroit picks 5, Houston 6, and San Antonio 7. So their first round pick can definitely be affected by their final record, even if they all finish bottom 3 in the standings and have equal chances at a top 4 pick.

True, I forgot about that. But the odds of them all not getting in the lottery is small. 2 could happen (still not likely) but that all 3 dont get in is pretty small.

Yeah it can work with one coin. It may take more than one flip if all the teams pick the same to eliminate to two teams. Just have the teams select again until there will be two on one side and one on the other side.

Or take a die and have the three teams select two numbers from the six sides and roll the die to determine the top team, then the other two teams select three numbers and roll the die a second time to determine who ends up in the 2nd draft position.

Each of DET/HOU/SA has a 52.1% chance of a top 4 pick. If those are all independent then the chances none of them get a top 4 pick is 11%, not all that much less than the chances the Spurs pick #1 (14%).
