Dellavedova out for the Kings.

Langford & KBD are questionable. Birch, Vassell, Bassey & Sochan are out for the Spurs.

Is it better to chase for 2nd or try to win this? I think the Rockets will be tempted to crash the Lakers' party.

We can go all out. Chances of pulling of a W against a quality opponent without Sochan & Vassell are pretty low.

4-5 from 3 to start the game. The lone miss was a wide open 3 from Bran that rattled out.

This is why I wanted Houston to beat Charlotte a while back.

I knew the Spurs weren't catching Charlotte and it would be close with Houston.

2 or 3 it doesn’t help the Spurs get a higher pick regardless. Getting 3 just means they have a chance to get the 7th pick. That’s it. 2 or 3 share the same odds to get picks 1-4.

Yup. People freaking out about nothing. It just shifts the non 1-4 percentages and gives a slight chance at the 7th pick.

It can make a difference if neither Houston or the Spurs move up. Houston will draft one ahead.
If neither are in the top three and Detroit is the Spurs are 5 and Houston is 4.

Maybe it makes no difference but possible it can be the difference of one pick.

I mean, I don’t care that much. I’m just stating what’s going on for those that follow it. I’m fine with SA winning out. Only hindsight will sting or be great when time comes. Even though we have the same odds, if HOU lands #1 pick from 2nd spot it will feel awful. But if Spurs land it from 3rd spot it will be fate :lol.

Just have to see how it shakes out, but the math is the same for the top 4 pick. Landing pick 7 would be horrendous luck. Pick 6 is highest individual odds for Spurs at this point but its a 33% shot at pick 6 or 7 now :wow

You don't know who they will take. Better to have that higher pick.

What doesn't make a difference is a meaningless win this late in the season.

The scenario where neither Spurs or Houston move up and two teams move ahead of them would leave the Spurs with the 5th pick vs the 4th pick where Houston would instead pick. This doesn’t contradict what I said about the odds for the Spurs still being the same for 1-4. At 3, the odds increase for the Spurs to get 5, 6, or 7 and that lines up with “Houston will draft one ahead”.

I think so too. Being 2 or 3 only matters if Houston misses on the top 4, and given that they're fond of suspect gambles and they're in desperate need of playmaking help, they're one of the prime candidates to pick up one of the Thompsons. Then it wouldn't really make much of a difference to us.

#3 seems all but locked in now, but man...imagine being the Kings going into the playoffs for the first time since 2006 and you lose to the B-squad of a tanking Spurs team at home.

Maybe Pop was trying to send a wake-up call to their players

I believe Houston having the second worst record has a chance of picking only 1 -4

Hopefully we will not see the ramifications of winning this game on draft night..

I like Stanley’s defense, but Champagnie is a more consistent shooter between the two, plus he has shown efforts to improve defensively, he hustles, rebounds and only 21 vs 26.

We had a 14.29% chance of #1 in 1987 and were technically in the 4th position the year we got David. 21.6% chance when we got TD.

And yes, this was much worse for the Kings than it was "good" for the Spurs. Doug going off for 30 will be forgotten. Had Keldon and Devin battled the Spurs back for an overtime win perhaps there would have been a lasting impression, but riding McDermott's hot shooting to victory is pretty meaningless for this young group.

Ok so in the grand scheme not that big of deal getting third place as odds to first pick are still the same. I guess Pop can release the hounds and go for wins or he can just use remaining games to get a good look at new players and see what they can do

Tre Jones had his triple-double, and Champagnie his career high. So not only McBuckets had a great game. The team played really well, so Pop coached them hard at the end for the win.

But now with 1 and 1/2 game behind HOU and CHA to far to catch, I expect Spurs to close the season strong.

Kings really wanted to win this to enhance their playoff standings so our youngsters were playing against their betst players. Not bad. Champagnie's shooting was a surprise to everyone. All players get a hot streak every once in a while. Remember Trey Lyles (now playing for Kings) hit 6 treys in his first game with the Spurs and never came close to that perfomance afterward. Got our hopes up and then broke our hearts
