Coach Pop is about to coach Wemby, potentially the best basketball player in the planet and possibly all time! Coach Pop wants this.. he really really wants this. After the prodigal nephew shamefully sabotaged the team that led to 5 years of losing seasons cultimating to last year's tanking. You know Coach Pop didn't want to lose. But finally comes Wemby who could bring the Spurs back to championship!! How long will it take for Wemby to get Spurs back to championship? It took Timmy 2 years, albeit with a ready-made playoff roster. Maybe in 2-3 years?? Still I think Coach Pop would love to win another chip with this young core. I think he'll retire after that.

definitely until the Spurs are a contender again I assume. I don't have a problem with it. Let Pop coach the kid

Spurs have talent now. It take some time. If spurs see no more wins than this last season. They may need a fresh voice.
Winning is what it about
Other teams fire coaches without good results spurs should do the same.

Sign Pop to a ten year extension. I trust Pop to do what it takes to keep Wemby healthy.

Pop is gonna coach until he dies now. As long as VW stays healthy and the Spurs don't monumentally screw up, he should be in SA for at least a decade.

My guess is the entirety of Wemby's rookie contract if his health holds up.

Winning keeps players happy
These days players say they need a fresh voice 5-6 years.
If spurs Win pop can stay. I want 6,7 and 8. This dude is that good.

You must be dreaming if you think the Spurs would ever fire a legendary coach, a national treasure! Nah the Spurs will let Coach Pop coach as long as he wants.

The Spurs are not out of the woods yet. They need to make sure that Wemby makes a healthy transition from a 19 year old skinny kid, to an NBA strong MVP caliber. And Coach Pop will stay to make sure of that..

And the opposite too, I guess.

Ok, that's not funny.

Pop has been on point thus far. From his views and logic on things like racism, injustice, and gun violence, to doing what needs to be done to move this franchise forward after the big 3 and Kawhi years. He still has plenty of fuel left in the tank, to be honest.

As long as he wants. I've learned that trying to guess Spurs retirement years isn't profitable.
