Does the allure of playing with VW make us attractive now? It’s like those shorts where the girl won’t give a guy the time of day until she sees him get into a bad ass car then she’s all “heeey”.

If we have capspace sure. But what stars would you want? Lebron, curry and Durant are old, giannis is locked up. Just be patient and see who wants out.

But also, its stupid to hold cap space indefinitely. So who cares.

Looking back, who was the biggest names that SA ever landed through Free Agency?

Mike Finley in 2005?
LaMarcus Alridge in 2015?

Anyone else guys?

This generation doesn't care about rings anymore, they cared about being paid so if Spurs got the money so maybe.

Pau in 2016 after All-Star 2015, 2016 and 2014-15 All-NBA (2nd).

SA was never a destination during the Duncan years for major star players granted they did get LMA towards the end of Duncan's career but in general it was always about getting high end role players and vets. I think the same will apply today.

Pau was 4 years too late and washed up...he should have join in 2012 or 2013 instead of going Chicago

Jared Jackson Jr deserves to be a Spur like his dad. He’d be done with Ja’s getting-old juvenile stunts

The Spurs will need to be opportunistic with getting vets that still have something left in the tank to lead and adding the right young pieces to surround Wemby. Like the Spurs in the Duncan days it will take a savvy front office making the right deals. Similar to Milwaukee...Giannis is a superstar yet they can't build a super team around him.

But that's ok in my book. The Superteams rarely amount to more than hype. Other than Miami's run with Lebron it's hard to name other situations where pairing the prima donnas has worked out.

Nope. Still not a destination. The city is better than it was a decade ago but not ready for prime time cool. Thinking is still way too small town. We've just been lucky with #1 picks.

unless you count Duncan re-signing as a free agent, its Aldridge and not close

Getting a league minimum old vet who is more of a mentor to Victor makes sense to me. Like how David had Caldwell Jones.
