Malaki was interviewed just now and he mentioned he will be going to Spain to workout with other NBA players.

Lonnie worked out with DeAaron Fox, and then Jrue Holiday

Mitchell is one of those players in a year or two that may request a trade or the Cavs may need to make a decision on since they have a lot of young players to pay.

that should be good for his development

I can definitely see him on a track to become a Jaylen Brown or Mitchell type scorer. It seems outrageous but the potential is there.

If he’s going to become a scorer like those players he needs to fix his shot motion so that he doesn’t release so low or otherwise he’ll get blocked all the time.

He had 40 total shots of all kinds blocked in 66 games/1550 minutes. Perhaps this is just apprehension, and not reality?

6.5% block rate for a player who only took 15% of his shots around the rim is historically shitty.

He'll be fine. He was dumping 30 point games with ease in the SL and will keep developing.

The disorder where people think these players are, like 30 years old and have been in the league for 10 years instead of being in the league for a single year and are still at the beginning of their development is pretty wild.

On an historically shitty team, and as a rookie, I'd be surprised if it were otherwise.

If a guy has consistently good percentages lifetime at the line and beyond the arc, you don't mess with his shot. The effect would be worse than a high block rate. Just teach him an escape dribble to let them fly by in the block attempt.

He’ll be fine if he does the work to fix his shooting motion to have a higher release point. During summer league, it looked like his motion started from his crotch and heaved forward. Nothing had changed since last year. Hand-wave it away all you want, but as scouting reports catch up, opponents will eat. It’s a legitimate flaw. Last year it was 6.5% for a guy who was hardly scouted on an anonymous tanking team. What percentage will get blocked once opponents pay attention? 8%? 10%? Then how could he ever become an efficient shooter?

If a player is shooting too low, it either means he lacks the strength to shoot correctly, which is fixable, or he hasn’t adjusted his mechanics since acquiring the necessary strength to shoot correctly, which is even more fixable. It’s the Jokic over-the-head catapult motion that you don’t mess with as long as it’s working.

Malaki is the 6th or so option in this team. I hardly doubt they scout him.

ST sees Spurs players in a microscope that nobody in the league would, with the exception of Wemby, Keldon and Vassell. I doubt they know the rest of the players.

I知 sure he値l pickup some working with Donovan and Brown. He値l be fine.

I can't totally recall, but, I seem to remember that the memory is one of the first things to go. Thanks for the correction!

It can't be worse than Shawn Marion. That was some ugly ass form he had. I am shocked he was able to make it to the Association with that nonsense.
