Who wants to be a teacher? No pay. The religious right coming after them and working to delegitimize the profession. All the idiocy surrounding book bans. And of course the longstanding school shooting trend that has gotten at best thoughts and prayers as a solution.

Well, some deserve a kick to the head, look how ducks ended up. They should have kept his head in the glass of water he was drowning in as a kid and saved everyone years of grief.

Thirty years split between coaching and teaching science , retired 2006, and heaven help me if I were to choose the same path now.

They need to start paying these ed. major kids to go to schools and get real life experience. After college, they are thrown unprepared into classrooms and most don't make it to 3 years
