DALLAS (Ticker) - Peerless once again is teamless.

The Dallas Cowboys on Saturday released wide receiver Peerless Price, who had just six catches for 96 yards this season.

It was the second time in just over three months that the 29-year-old has been released. On August 30, the Atlanta Falcons waived Price, who badly underachieved after being acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2003 season.

The Cowboys signed Price four days later, and he saw limited action behind starters Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson.

After catching 94 passes for 1,252 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bills in 2002, Price was traded to Atlanta for a 2003 first-round pick and subsequently signed to a seven-year, $37 million contract that included a $10 million bonus.

In two seasons with Atlanta, Price managed 109 catches for 1,413 yards and six touchdowns. Last year, he had just 45 catches for 575 yards - his lowest totals since his rookie season of 2000, when he started just four games.

I don't think its that big of a loss. I mean they barely used him as it was, so this is no biggy. Price wasn't gonna be here next year, so oh well. Parcells must feel pretty confident in Crayton being 100% ready to go for the season.

Personally, I think Parcells is more concerned about the offensive line, and the linebacking corp right now. He may be making room for another signing.

He never did appear to like Price anyway. I thought he did a decent job myself. I think the Cowboys receivers, including Witten are fine. We'll miss Dat far more than we'll miss Peerless.

He was doing great before he got injured...

Yea, the offense seemed different or better with Crayton in. They ran different plays. Price and Glenn are basically the same players with Glenn being better. Crayton on the otherhand is a hybrid of Key and Glenn---we can do more things with Crayton than we could with Price. Crayton is better across the field.

We all knew that Price was brought in as an insurance policy for namely Glenn. This says alot about Parcells faith in Crayton, for him to make this move.

I just dont like the timing of this, and the fact he can go to a NFC team and he may help them for the playoffs or a playoff run and not to mention tell them anything about our offense, signals, game planning, and anything else that could be helpful. It wont determine the outcome of any game, but it can be very helpful to the opposition IMO.
