Yeah, they could be somewhat in competition before long. For now, Branham is clearly a bench guy, not simply due to age but for his defense. A lot of mentions of defense in these interviews. This is where it needs to go.

Pop said in his interview, “if Manu Ginobili could come off the bench, anyone can. I don’t want to hear it.” Yup, Keldon is that guy. Although I think he will close games as a SF and Sochan at PG. Tre talked about guys bringing down the ball from 1-4 or even 5. Sochan was giddy when asked about his position. While also Pop said “the sky is the limit” for Sochan. I think we’ll see a lot of Sochan playing Point Forward to make a dynamic team, rim run and push the tempo. “He’s tall and can see a lot of people,” as Pop said. I think Pop has grown affection to Sochan as a unique player and would use him to Sours advantage.

Pop mentioned Keldon as a “bull in a china shop” but now able to see game more, pick time to score. But he wants him to emphasize on playing D. I think he can triump in the 6th man role, definitely could score against 2nd teams and shows leadership as focal point playing Manu role. I think Manu would help talk to him as encouragement and how to exploit the situation to his advantage, while bringing W to the team. A lot of things to watch for.

Oh, I agree. Tim was a true big. He would come to a full stop before rising up to shoot. The Spurs do keep plays in their book for years, or even decades, though. They’ve been running hammer and floppy action since their retool in 2011.

yep. meanwhile bassey's listed height went from 6'9 last year to 6'11 this year

fwiw raptors fans seemed to like him quite a bit until his knee issue. he played well for them when first acquired. but then he played the entire next season (21-22) on a torn meniscus that they apparently missed on an MRI. he then got offseason surgery before the 22-23 season but was never really recovered. hence playing next to no minutes last year.

He was listed at 6'10" as a Freshman in HS, but that same HS listed me as a 5'10" 180lb Linebacker when I was actually 5'7" 155lbs... so I take that with a grain of salt.

This is all just to say, I don't think Bassey grew, I just think the Sixers didn't list his height properly.

I would imagine Vassell is seen as part of the core going forward given his recent extension.

Keldon's name is certainly conspicuous by its absence. I can totally see him being traded like White and Murray were, especially since he is an awkward fit in the starting lineup.

He’s not necessarily the “odd man” if he takes the 6th man Manu role where his “energy” and leadership would be so much needed. It’s actually a perfect fit. And he could always close the games like Manu did, and Sochan sliding to PG, as he indicated in interviews playing PG.
