starvation and malnutrition are widespread
Maynard said that severe malnutrition has been contributing to preventable deaths among Palestinians receiving surgery. “The malnutrition I’m seeing here is indescribably bad. It’s much, much worse now than a year ago,” he said.
“The repairs that we carry out fall to pieces, patients get terrible infections, and they die. I have never had so many patients die because they can’t get enough food to recover,” he added.
Babies have been starving to death in Gaza due to Israeli restrictions on baby formula (https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-07-11/ty-article/.premium/aid-groups-infants-are-dying-in-gaza-because-israel-impedes-import-of-baby-formula/00000197-f690-dd18-a7df-ffbfee450000), as malnourished mothers cannot produce breast milk. Maynard said that the Nasser Hospital is also running out of intravenous liquid fluids used to treat severely malnourished children and that four infants died of malnutrition at the hospital last week.

The Holy Family Church, the only Catholic Church in Gaza, was struck by a raid this morning, resulting in three deaths and several injuries, including the Parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli. In a statement, the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem appeals to leaders "to raise their voices and to do all that is necessary in order to stop this tragedy which is humanly and morally unjustified."https://www.vaticannews.va/en/church/news/2025-07/the-parish-priest-father-gabriel-romanelli.html

this is recalled by heart, but I think that the headcount of Christians in Gaza at the outbreak was somewhere around 1000, mainly Greek Orthodox after a quick search
Copilot wants me to say there were about 150 Roman Catholics in Gaza in Oct 2023, but it's a sh!te source
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said his country "deeply regrets that a stray ammunition" hit Gaza's only Catholic Church, killing three people sheltering there.
"Every innocent life lost is a tragedy. We share the grief of the families and the faithful,"he said in a statement.
The incident happened on Thursday when an Israeli strike hit the Holy Family Church in Gaza City. Several people were also injured, said the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem which oversees the small parish.
Pope Leo XIV said he was "deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury", (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8xvnlpx2dxo)renewing his call for a Gaza ceasefire.
In his statement, Netanyahu said Israel was "investigating the incident and remains committed to protecting civilians and holy sites".

Oh yeah, IDF has already sniped and bombed the parishioners there

As of 2025, estimates of the Christian population in Gaza range from approximately 600 to 1,000. Specific figures vary across sources:
A March 2025 report indicates the Christian population has dwindled to around 700, down from 1,100 before the ongoing conflict, with many seeking refuge in churches like the Holy Family Church, Saint Porphyrius Church, and the Baptist Church.english.wafa.ps
Another source from April 2025 suggests fewer than 1,400 Christians remain, with the number of Catholics being even smaller.cnn.com
A December 2024 estimate places the population at around 1,000, though hundreds have reportedly left for Egypt, Canada, and Australia since the war began.nytimes.com
A source citing a 2024 figure mentions about 800 Christians remaining in Gaza, down from 1,100 in 2022.jordantimes.com
These numbers reflect the ongoing decline due to conflict, displacement, and emigration, with no single precise figure for 2025. The range of 600 to 1,000 is the most consistent across recent reports.

The Trump phase of Gaza ethnic cleansing/genocide is well under way
“An estimated 900 people have been reported killed while waiting for food distribution in Gaza since the end of May. Most of those were killed in the vicinity of the GHF sites.”https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2025/7/19/live-israel-kills-more-than-50-in-gaza-as-un-warns-of-catastrophic

Gideon Levy in Ha'aretz
Saying stuff like this in the US gets you cancelled, but we've got ethnic cleansing concentration camps too
Adolf Eichmann began his Nazi career as the head of the Central Agency for Jewish Emigration at the security agency charged with protecting the Reich. Joseph Brunner, the father of Mossad chief David Barnea, was three years old when he fled Nazi Germany with his parents, before the evacuation plan was implemented.
Last week, Barnea, the grandson, (https://archive.is/o/3mVon/https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-04-24/ty-article/.premium/mossad-chief-to-meet-qatari-pm-for-hostage-talks-despite-not-being-on-negotiating-team/00000196-6922-de67-a5df-f97ffa960000) visited Washington in order to discuss the "evacuation" of the Gaza Strip's population. Barak Ravid reported on Channel 12 News that Barnea told his interlocutors that Israel has already begun talks with three countries on this issue, and the irony of history hid its face in shame. A grandson of a refugee of ethnic cleansing in Germany discusses ethnic cleansing, and no memory comes to mind.
In order to "evacuate" two million people from their country, you need a plan. Israel has been working on one. The first stage involves transferring much of the population i (https://archive.is/o/3mVon/https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-07-07/ty-article/.premium/defense-minister-israel-to-concentrate-all-gaza-population-in-rafah-humanitarian-zone/00000197-e56a-d1ad-ab97-e5ef764e0000)nto a concentration camp (https://archive.is/o/3mVon/https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-07-07/ty-article/.premium/defense-minister-israel-to-concentrate-all-gaza-population-in-rafah-humanitarian-zone/00000197-e56a-d1ad-ab97-e5ef764e0000) in order to facilitate an efficient deportation.
Last week, the BBC published an investigative report based on satellite photos, showing systematic destruction carried out by the IDF (https://archive.is/o/3mVon/https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-07-17/ty-article-magazine/.premium/satellite-data-shows-at-least-70-percent-of-gaza-buildings-leveled/00000198-12de-d9c7-af98-7adffc8f0000) across the Gaza Strip. Village after village is being wiped off the face of the earth, which is being flattened for the sake of constructing the concentration camp, so that life in Gaza will no longer be possible.
Preparations for the first Israeli concentration camp are in full swing. Systematic destruction is proceeding throughout the enclave so that there is nowhere to return to other than the concentration camp.
In order to carry out this work, bulldozers are required. The BBC presented two wanted ads. One described "a project involving the demolition of buildings in Gaza requires (40-ton) bulldozer operators. The job includes payment of 1,200 shekels ($357) a day, including food and lodging, with an option of obtaining a private vehicle." The second ad said that "work hours are Sunday to Thursday, from 7 A.M. to 4:45 P.M., with excellent working conditions."
Israel is quietly perpetrating a crime against humanity. Not a house here and a house there, no "operational necessities," but a systematic elimination of any chance of life there, while preparing the infrastructure for concentrating people in a "humanitarian" city intended to be a transit camp – before deportation to Libya, (https://archive.is/o/3mVon/https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/2025-05-17/ty-article/nbc-trump-administration-working-on-plan-to-relocate-one-million-palestinians-to-libya/00000196-db37-d048-a7d7-db77a2f30000) Ethiopia and Indonesia, the destinations Barnea specified, according to Channel 12.
That is the plan for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. Someone conceived it, there were discussions of pros and cons, alternatives were suggested, options of total cleansing vs. stages, and all done in air-conditioned conference rooms with minutes taken and decisions made. For the first time since the war of revenge in Gaza began, it's clear that Israel has a plan – and it's a far-reaching one.
This is no longer a rolling war. One can no longer accuse Benjamin Netanyahu of waging a war with no purpose. There is a purpose to this war, and it's a criminal one. One can no longer tell army commanders that their troops are dying (https://archive.is/o/3mVon/https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-07-14/ty-article/.premium/three-israeli-soldiers-killed-in-gaza-strip-fighting/00000198-09e9-dd18-a7dd-09efecf00000) for no reason: They are dying in a war of ethnic cleansing.

Egypt has rejected a quid pro quo offered by the US that would see it mediate an end to the crisis over Ethiopia’s Nile dam (https://www.newarab.com/news/egypt-raises-stakes-against-ethiopia-over-nile-dam-row) in return for Cairo allowing Israel to displace Gaza’s population into Rafah (https://www.newarab.com/news/egypt-opposes-israel-remaining-rafah-during-gaza-ceasefire), high-level Egyptian diplomatic sources told Al Araby Al Jadeed, the Arabic-language sister site of The New Arab.
One Egyptian diplomat told the news outlet that the Trump administration had offered what one senior US official called a "decisive intervention" to solve the dispute over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
In return, Egypt would need to back Israel’s plan to confine millions of Palestinians in a concentration camp close to the Rafah border.
Israel’s defence minister (https://www.newarab.com/news/katz-proposes-rafah-concentration-camp-gazas-palestinians) earlier this month announced plans to erect a “humanitarian city” on the ruins of Rafah into which the entire Palestinian population will eventually be concentrated.

Doctors fainting from hunger
Doctors and medical staff in Gaza (https://www.theguardian.com/world/gaza) say their increasing hunger and the lack of available food is beginning to leave them too weak to provide urgent medical care to patients inside hospitals full of malnourished and injured civilians.
Almost a dozen medical staff across the territory have told the Guardian and the Arabic Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) of their increasingly desperate search for food and declining physical health due to hunger.
“They are in a state of extreme exhaustion. Some have fainted in the operating rooms,” said Dr Mohammed Abu Selmia (https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2025/feb/25/israel-gaza-doctors-surgeons-healthcare-detention-international-law), the director of al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City, who said that like the people of Gaza, staff had not received any aid or had any meals in the past 48 hours.
“Medical services will be affected because our staff will not be able to hold out any longer in the face of this famine,” he added.
Many of the doctors and medical practitioners who sent messages to the Guardian did not want to be named as they feared being targeted by the Israeli military.
“Today I have been on a 24-hour shift,” said one physician at al-Shifa hospital. “At [the hospital] they are supposed to give us some rice for each shift, but today they told us there was none. My colleague and I [treated] 60 neurosurgery patients and right now I can’t even stand.”
Another general practitioner volunteering at al-Shifa hospital said: “I haven’t had anything to eat since yesterday and my family has nothing to eat. All day, I am thinking how can I get them flour or lentils or anything to eat [but] here’s nothing in the markets. We are no longer able to walk. We don’t know what to do.”
One surgeon at Nasser medical complex in Gaza said that the workload facing overstretched medical staff was increasing as more patients were being admitted for symptoms related to malnourishment.
“There are a high number of patients suffering from gastroenteritis, fainting and low blood sugar across all age groups of patients coming into the hospital,” he said. There is also a noticeable increase in post-surgical complications after operations due to malnutrition.
“I couldn’t eat for two days because I feared worsening my own gastroenteritis, and because of my low blood pressure I had to stop during a surgery on a girl who had been shot in the abdomen,” he said.

there goes another talking point
The military officials who spoke to The New York Times said that the original U.N. aid operation was relatively reliable and less vulnerable to Hamas interference than the operations of many of the other groups bringing aid into Gaza. That’s largely because the United Nations managed its own supply chain and handled distribution directly inside Gaza.
Hamas did steal from some of the smaller organizations that donated aid, as those groups were not always on the ground to oversee distribution, according to the senior Israeli officials and others involved in the matter. But, they say, there was no evidence that Hamas regularly stole from the United Nations, which provided the largest chunk of the aid.
A Hamas representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
An internal U.S. government analysis came to similar conclusion, Reuters reported on Friday (https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/usaid-analysis-found-no-evidence-massive-hamas-theft-gaza-aid-2025-07-25/). It found no evidence of systematic Hamas theft of U.S.-funded humanitarian supplies, the report said.

these Israel-based human rights orgs would be subject to arrest, indefinite detention and deportation if they came to the US
Two leading human rights organisations based in Israel (https://www.theguardian.com/world/israel), B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights, say Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the country’s western allies have a legal and moral duty to stop it.
In reports published on Monday, the two groups said Israel had targeted civilians in Gaza (https://www.theguardian.com/world/gaza) only because of their identity as Palestinians over nearly two years of war, causing severe and in some cases irreparable damage to Palestinian society.
Multiple international and Palestinian groups have already described the war as genocidal (https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2024/11/un-special-committee-finds-israels-warfare-methods-gaza-consistent-genocide), but reports from two of Israel-Palestine’s most respected human rights organisations, who have for decades documented systemic abuses, is likely to add to pressure for action.
The reports detailed crimes including the killing of tens of thousands of women, children and elderly people, mass forced displacement and starvation, and the destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure that have deprived Palestinians of healthcare, education and other basic rights.
“What we see is a clear, intentional attack on civilians in order to destroy a group,” said Yuli Novak, the director of B’Tselem, calling for urgent action. “I think every human being has to ask himself: what do you do in the face of genocide?”
It is vital to recognise that a genocide is under way (https://www.theguardian.com/law/2025/jul/27/why-the-icj-is-delaying-a-gaza-genocide-verdict)even without a ruling in the case before the international court of justice (https://www.theguardian.com/law/2025/jul/27/why-the-icj-is-delaying-a-gaza-genocide-verdict), she said. “Genocide is not just a legal crime. It’s a social and political phenomenon.”
Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) focuses in its report on a detailed chronological account of the assault on Gaza’s health system, with many details documented directly by the group’s own team, which worked regularly in Gaza before 7 October 2023.

The destruction of the healthcare system alone makes the war genocidal under article 2c of the genocide convention, which prohibits deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to destroy a group “in whole or part”, said its director, Guy Shalev.
“You don’t have to have all five articles of the genocide convention to be fulfilled in order for something to be genocide,” he said, although the report also details other genocidal aspects of Israel’s war.
Both B’Tselem and PHR said Israel’s western allies were enabling the genocidal campaign, and shared responsibility for suffering in Gaza. “It couldn’t happen without the support of the western world,” Novak said. “Any leader that is not doing whatever they can to stop it is part of this horror.”
The US and European countries have a legal responsibility to take stronger action than they have done so far, Shalev said. “Every tool in the toolbox should be used. This is not what we think, this is what the genocide convention calls for.”

famine declared
Formal famine determinations (https://apnews.com/article/gaza-famine-hunger-israel-ceasefire-7e0c9d5aa43034c0d9f0d396f1f398cd) are rare. The IPC has previously determined famines in Somalia in 2011, South Sudan in 2017 and 2020, and parts of Sudan’s western Darfur region last year.
The IPC says a famine exists in an area when all three of the following conditions are confirmed:
At least 20% of households have an extreme lack of food, or are essentially starving. At least 30% of children 6 months to 5 years old suffer from acute malnutrition or wasting, based on a weight-to-height measurement; or 15% of that age group suffer from acute malnutrition based on the circumference of their upper arm. And at least two people, or four children under 5, per 10,000 are dying daily due to starvation or the interaction of malnutrition and disease.

When Hamas came back with a "yes, but" to President Trump's Gaza peace proposal on Friday, Trump called Israeli (https://www.axios.com/2025/10/04/trump-gaza-deal-netanyahu-call) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss what he saw as good news.
Netanyahu felt differently. "Bibi told Trump this is nothing to celebrate, and that it doesn't mean anything," a U.S. official with knowledge of the call told Axios.
Trump (https://www.axios.com/politics-policy/donald-trump) fired back: "I don't know why you're always so f***ing negative. This is a win. Take it."

Here is the reality:
...the initial agreement between Hamas and Israel addresses only a few of the 20 points in a plan Mr. Trump proposed last month, and some of the most difficult issues appeared to have been left to a future phase of negotiations. Those include who would rule postwar Gaza and whether, to what degree and how Hamas would lay down its weapons.

Ben-Gvir is threatening to topple the Israeli government if Hamas isn't destroyed.
Very little has happened beyond the announced deal, and the subsequent phases in the next 90-180 days will be even more difficult. There are reasons to doubt that the counterparties will keep the deal.

So, this brings to 8, the number of conflicts in which President Trump has been instrumental in a cessation of hostilities.
Before the agreement between Israel and Hamas, over Gaza, there were the 2nd term Trump-brokered peace agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan; Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo; India and Pakistan; and Cambodia and Thailand. In his first term he brokered peace between Egypt and Ethiopia; and, Serbia and Kosovo. Of course, there was the quick end he brought to Iran's reign of terror through their proxies. Finally, let's not forget the Abraham Accords negotiated by his son-in-law Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, and Avi Berkowitz.
On top of these globally significant mediations, there are over 50 to 75 Americans who owe their freedom to President Trump after he secured their release from foreign nations that were either holding them hostage or detaining them.
Personally, I don't know why he wants the Nobel Peace Prize. It lost all meaning after it was given to mass murderer and pederast Yasser Arafat. The Prize committee further sullied it by awarding the Peace Prize to President Barack Obama for merely being elected President of the United States; a presidency that oversaw the initiation and worsening of hostilities, around the world and, in the process, dropped over 26,000 bombs on 7 different countries.
I wouldn't want to be in their company.

Well, they're waiving American flags in Israel and thanking our President. And, in Gaza, instead of chants of "Death to America," there is reporting showing Gazans waking to peace and thanking President Trump for the chance. Things are changing quicker than you think. The first 72 hours will be the most telling ... if Hamas returns all the hostages (living and dead) and the IDF withdraws to the agreed upon buffer line; the next 90-180 days will be easier.
However, aside from the Israel/Hamas conflict, there are 7 other significant wars/conflicts in which the Trump administration has played a crucial role in bringing to an end.
What did Barack Obama do to deserve his Peace Prize? And, can we all just admit that, whatever it was, Trump has far surpassed that?
I know TDS is a hard condition to see past but maybe, just maybe, some of the left are starting to see through the lies. If the Washington Post can see through the fog of hatred, maybe a few in this forum can, as well.

The Nobel Committee awarded this year's peace prize to Maria Corina Machado amid calls [from] President Donald Trump to receive the award in the wake of his brokering a historic deal between Israel and Hamas.
Machado, a Venezuelan opposition leader, was described as a "brave and committed champion of peace" by Joergen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
"She is receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy," Frydnes said.

As a CiC sure but there is no question that it was part of their infrastructure due to the facilities they unquestionably had under the hospital. Then why did IDF put out fake information about it? Why not just release bona fide information?
On Oct. 27, 2023, the Israeli army released an animated video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pTYHBZVgVQ) claiming to reveal what lay beneath Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest medical complex. It showed underground tunnels, bunkers, and a Hamas command room — all depicted through slick 3D graphics.
“That information is ironclad,” insisted (https://archive.org/details/CNNW_20231027_200000_The_Lead_With_Jake_Tapper/start/1951/end/2011) Mark Regev, then-senior adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during an interview the same day on CNN. “It’s based on Israeli intelligence.”
Israel’s first raid on the hospital would not come until mid-November. But the narrative had already been set. The clip was pushed simultaneously across the army’s Telegram, Facebook, YouTube, X, and Instagram accounts. On Netanyahu’s own X profile, it drew tens of millions of views (https://x.com/netanyahu/status/1717916845859078531?lang=en). Over the subsequent weeks, dozens of international outlets would rebroadcast it for their own audiences, invariably accompanied by Israel’s claim (https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamass-main-operations-base-is-under-shifa-hospital-in-gaza-city-says-idf/) that the hospital served as Hamas’ “main operations base” in Gaza.
But no such base was ever discovered. Moreover, the command room featured in the video was not unique; it had already appeared more than a year earlier in
another animation (https://www.instagram.com/reel/CghR18-j7To/) published by the Israeli army, illustrating what it said was a tunnel beneath a UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school in Gaza. The surrounding streets in the “Al-Shifa” video, meanwhile, were populated with storefronts from a commercial 3D asset pack — replete with fictional establishments like “Fabio’s Pizzeria,” “Andre’s Bakery,” and “Revolution Bike Shop.”
The “Al-Shifa” animation would become one of the most notorious examples of Israel’s new wartime communication strategy. It also marked the beginning of an accelerated phase of production within the IDF’s Spokesperson’s Unit: having published only a handful of 3D visualizations before October 7, the unit has since released dozens of similar videos depicting supposed terror sites in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.
https://www.972mag.com/israeli-army-3d-propaganda-animations/
Winehole23
10-12-2025, 10:34 AM
A months-long investigation by +972 Magazine and Local Call together with the research collective Viewfinder, the Swiss network SRF, and the Scottish outlet The Ferret analyzed 43 animations produced by the Israeli army since October 7 and found that many contain serious spatial inaccuracies or prefabricated assets — sourced not from classified intelligence but rather from commercial libraries, content creators, and cultural institutions.
Interviews with soldiers involved in the production of these videos further illuminate how the army prioritizes the aesthetic value of the animations over their accuracy, while animators routinely embellish in order to emphasize a supposed threat.
The outcome is a communications campaign that mimics the graphics of forensic reconstructions in pursuit of legitimizing military strikes on civilian infrastructure. And as most of the sites depicted in the army’s animations remain inaccessible to journalists and researchers, and many have been blown up or demolished, Israel’s illustrated allegations effectively defy verification.

Hamas says it will delay hostage handover, after Israeli prime minister orders ‘immediate, powerful’ military strikes in Gaza
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday ordered the Israeli military to carry out “immediate, powerful” strikes in Gaza.
“At the conclusion of the security consultations, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed the military echelon to carry out immediate, powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip,” the office of the Prime Minister said in a short statement.
Earlier today, Netanyahu’s office said that Hamas is in “clear violation” of the Gaza ceasefire agreement after returning remains to Israel that did not belong to any of the 13 hostages still unaccounted for in the enclave.

is this a ceasefire?
At least 373 Palestinians have been killed and 970 wounded since the start of the ceasefire in October, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2025/12/7/live-israel-targets-gaza-as-mediators-warn-ceasefire-at-critical-moment

In terms of Americans' separate favorable ratings of the two countries, the latest poll also finds a new high of 37% viewing the Palestinian Territories favorably, although still trailing Israel’s 46%. The 57% of Americans in favor of an independent Palestinian state nearly matches a reading from 2003 as the highest Gallup has measured.
Americans’ shifting sympathies in the Middle East situation this year are mostly driven by changes among political independents. By 41% to 30%, independents say they sympathize more with the Palestinians than the Israelis, whereas in all prior years, they were more sympathetic toward the Israelis, including by 42% to 34% last year.

Americans of all age groups have grown more sympathetic to the Palestinians in recent years. Among those aged 18 to 34, 53% say they sympathize more with the Palestinians, marking the first time a majority of this age group has expressed this view. Meanwhile, 23% of young adults say they sympathize more with the Israelis, a record low for the age group.
Views among those aged 35 to 54 have also shifted decisively. In 2026, 46% say they sympathize more with the Palestinians, compared with 28% who sympathize more with the Israelis. This is a near reversal of opinion among this age group compared with 2025, when 45% gave more sympathy to the Israelis and 33% to the Palestinians.
Among adults aged 55 and older, 49% sympathize more with the Israelis and 31% with the Palestinians, the first time since 2005 that less than half of older Americans have said they sympathize more with the Israelis. The 18-point lead for the Israelis also represents the narrowest gap in sympathies recorded for this age group.

Data from an internal Israeli intelligence database indicates that at least 83 percent of Palestinians killed in Israel’s onslaught on Gaza were civilians, an investigation by +972 Magazine, Local Call, and the Guardian can reveal.
Figures obtained from the classified database — which records the deaths of militants from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) — contradict by a huge margin the public statements of Israeli army and government officials throughout the war, which have generally claimed (https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/netanyahu-lashes-foreign-press-for-false-reporting-regarding-gaza-humanitarian-situation/) a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio of civilian to militant casualties. Instead, the classified data backs up the findings (https://aoav.org.uk/2024/netanyahu-got-it-wrong-before-the-us-congress-idfs-clean-performance-in-gaza-is-a-lie/) of several (https://www.thenation.com/article/world/gaza-death-toll-evidence/) studies (https://euromedmonitor.org/en/article/6004/Contrary-to-Israeli-claims,-9-out-of-10-of-those-killed-in-Gaza-are-civilians%E2%80%8B) suggesting (https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/public-health/articles/10.3389/fpubh.2024.1359189/full) Israel’s bombardment of Gaza has killed civilians at a rate with few parallels in modern warfare.
The Israeli army confirmed the existence of the database, which is managed by the Military Intelligence Directorate (known by the Hebrew acronym “Aman”). Multiple intelligence sources familiar with the database said the army views it as the only authoritative tally of militant casualty figures. In the words of one of them: “There’s no other place to check.”
