View Full Version : What If...: We did not get the No. 1 Draft Pick and hence no Wemby...

Still unbelievable that we landed Wemby...

Looking at the other rookies in the 2023 draft class, it seems that Wemby is much better than them by a mile. Scoot Hendersen, Brandon Miller, Thompson Twins...

It seems that Ausar Thompson is better than the rest currently. Brandon Miller is looking like a bust so far. Hendersen still has some up and down. It is unthinkable if Wemby landed in Detroit or Houston or Charlotte and we are stuck with the others...Think Pop will simply retires. :lol

Better not think of it. We meet our partners and that one sperm that reach that egg that month, made your kid exactly as they are now.

There'd be a second "it still hurts" thread, 237,000 minutes after discovering the Spurs got the number 4 pick.

Miller does not look like a bust.

3 quarters of the people posting right now wouldn’t have returned.

There would be 3 or 4 STers who’d be making threads assuring us that one of the Thompson brothers would be better than Wemby.

Half of the threads on the first page would be about how PATFO suck.

Other than that - pain and waiting for Flagg or Boozer in a few years.

They would've been okay. Thompson/Henderson, Vassell, Johnson, Sochan and Collins would've been an interesting lineup. The Spurs would probably looking at two years of tanking though.

I've been really impressed by what I've seen of the Thompson twins thus far. I was admittedly not super high on them, and their shooting touch. But they've got a deeper game beyond shooting I simply wasn't giving them credit for.

Agree. It wouldn’t be the worst alternative to have either of the Thompson twins. It’s evident why the Spurs were high on them. Wemby shortened that rebuilding and 1000 times better with possibly the GOAT be a Spur than a Bull! (Or a Cavs/Heat/Lakers color for LeSoft fans).

While not the worst that could happen, that would probably make us a treadmill team again. We'd probably have to trade Johnson for more draft capital because he would no longer be on our timeline... and take one of the top SF in next year's draft.

Amen, Vassell, Keldon, Sochan and Collins would still be fun. But again, Wemby is 1000 times better. Potentially the GOAT is a Spur? Not a Bulls or Lakers? Mind boggling.
