Is Zach hungover after celebrating the new contract?

Bigs are clearly spurs advantage vs. Dallas. But Bassey has shown he's up to the task in case Zach is out.

Sounds like an illness for Zach-hopefully short lived and he plays tomorrow.

Rip Steven Adams

Sucks, Adams is a good big got a lot of respect for his career

I like Zach’s grit. It’s infectious, and somehiw dictates Spurs defensive toughness.

Vassell to be out for “some time” per Pop…getting an MRI :depressed Left tonight’s game with “left groin tightness”.

Buzzkill after great B2B wins.

Damn, groin. At least it's not the same injury. Devin was killing it.

Vassell needs to start learning French asap so he can communicate with Wembys trainers

man that's some bullshit. Devin was lighting it up. He's legit on his way to becoming an All-Star

Or he gets his head further in there. I’d rather see more Tre and Cedi than him.

Branham probably

DV being out should hopefully open the door for some minutes for Champ, still think he's going to have a role to play this season tbh.

Vassell is like found money, as stated this will allow some others to get minutes as the Spurs are very deep but need to develop their end of bench guys. For example, could a big body like Cissoko come in and throw a Leonard or George off a bit at the 3 position. We were exposed defensively at that spot pretty badly in the loss to Clippers.

Most coaches would slide Malaki into the SL, and Champagnie into Malaki's rotation spot, but Pop will likely start Champagnie and leave Malaki in place.

This might be Pop's chance to put Jones into the starting lineup. If his three point shot can hold up it would be a pretty nasty lineup defensively.

It’s the offensive production that will suffer. I think they start Cedi but give Malaki every chance to prove himself.

Devonte Graham’s suspension was only two games, right? Is he injured now or just not being prioritized in the rotation?

couchman

Graham is available just not cracked the lineup yet.
I expect Pop to start Branham so that Sochan can continue to develop his on-ball skills.
Sochan has been looking better w each game

Keeps the 2nd unit intact, too. I wouldn't mind seeing Devonte Graham get minutes too, either as a starter or off the bench. Or Tre as a starter or off the bench. A lot of experimenting to come.

Branham should start for DV tbh. Keeps the rotation somewhat intact.

Wonder if they'll give an actual timeframe for how long they expect Vassell to be out. 2-4 weeks would be pretty good news all things considered tbh.

yeah, watching pop's postgame comments makes it seem less dire than the tweets quoting it

I would prefer Cedi to start instead of Branham until Devin comes back.

From the San Antonio Express News, good news it seems!

Coach Gregg Popovich said Vassell is likely to also miss Monday’s back-to-back closer at Indiana, but left the door open for a possible return when the Spurs play in New York on Wednesday.

“It’s closer to short term than long term,” Popovich said Sunday.

So it was more a precaution. Good news. Spurs need Devin’s production

Don’t have a link, but I believe it is in ESPN’s off-season primer. Spurs finished as 9th healthiest team this season, as measured by games lost.
