I am probably in the minority, but I believe a properly run offense can fix a bad defense. Not all the way to top 10 or anything but just by playing smarter then our defense would be middle of the pack. So offensively, stop turning the ball over. This kills fast break points and just by doing this, our ppg given up can go down by 6-8 points. Stop taking so many long shots and take some shots closer to the basket so the rebounds aren’t long rebounds and guys aren’t scrambling back to defense like a chicken with its head cut off. That’s where a lot of transition 3s take place or
just easy lay ups.
Play slower and smarter on offense at specific times and you give the opponent less possessions. A lot of the Spurs crunch time was to wind the clock down and get a shot with 4-5 seconds left as the 2nd and 4th quarter dwindled down. Well we aren’t good at that this year bc our offensive possessions in those situations are poorly run.

For a top tier defense we need top tier defenders and we just don’t have that. Wemby and that’s really it. And even then he is lacking in areas and doesn’t really know how to play defense yet. He’s just kinda free styling out there to a degree going off of instincts rather than knowledge
