One of the season’s few bright spots.

Now if only we could sign Dieng so Pop could have more excuses to not play Mamu

Do you waive him and sign, I don't know, a point guard?

Now that they've conceded Wembanyama is a C (he'll still play some with Collins to give the latter the minutes commensurate with his contract), Bassey probably wasn't going to play much anyway barring injury to either of them obviously.

Unfortunate, but this is the break Mamukelashvili (more of a PF, granted) and Barlow needed.

You don't cut a young, rotational caliber player that's signed for dirt cheap for multiple seasons, just to bring in another body that's not going to play anyway.

He won't play until after the allstar game next season. And won't be in the rotation unless he has a good training camp after that

I hope he tanked this for Wemby from the basketball god.

Is there really a good place/time to tear an ACL? Would it be better to tear it in an NBA loss? I mean, Austin at least won.

Do the Spurs get an extra roster spot to use for the rest of the season in a case like this?

No. Spurs will probably take on some deadweight at the trade deadline so they can waive them and convert Barlow. That's how Bassey got his NBA deal last year.

rehab is where his character will show. How bad does he want to come back. I believe this young man will work hard in rehab to make it back. Let's all pray for him.

It's his third serious left knee injury at 23 year old, that's worrisome. Anyway, I wish him all the best.

That's fucked up, to wish injury on a player on a team you're supposedly a fan of.

if a coach leaves his superstar player in the game with 90 seconds to go and the team up 30, and that player proceeds to tear his ACL, does that not usually come with criticism without deflecting to "well theres never a good time to tear an ACL"

Again not "wishing" Collins gets injured, making a joke that if anyone should be out for the year it should be Collins. But tbh idrc about your opinion one way or another so believe what you want

Why was Bassey still not with the Spurs and what exactly was he supposed to be working on at Austin per PATFO?

They haven't played the non-rotation players nearly as much this year, so Bassey, Mamu, and Wesley went down to get some playing time.

That's bad news, could be a serious career issue... Hope he recovers fully, but 3 issues with the same knee... Bad news.

The Spurs have applied for a Disabled Player Exception on Charles Bassey, sources tell ESPN.

This will be a pretty minuscule amount. Would actually matter if the nba also granted a roster spot for these, but they don’t
