Bayern is directly dependent on the quality of the German NT and we'll see this summer where it truly stands. But Neuer is still the #1? Kroos asked to return. This new Generation of German football we were all promised & sold. More athletic but weaker especially defensively. The Germans have lost their identity and with it their winning ways.

Last season, Lewandowski's return to Munich was the most frustrated I felt all season. Good team performance spoiled by a few minutes of mental lapse. Classic Munich Avalanche that I witnessed and enjoyed a hundred times. I watched the match with my folks. It wasn't a terrible divorce but both parties were clearly better together. But that's typical hindsight.

Bayern seems to be heading towards a major roster shakeup. Rather shocking how much the roster has declined since 2021

FCB is applauded for roster building with affordable young talent but the inconvenient reality is the club overpays resigning just very good players. Neither of those 3 Wingers are great. Kimmich should maybe move elsewhere. CBs outside DE Ligt have been a bust. Davies decline.

The club splurged after Lewandowski was allowed to leave but the replacements have been overall a mixed bag.

But it would be very surprising if Bayern goes a 2nd straight season trophyless.

Good for Harry but he joined Bayern at down turn. Munich needs to rebuild the precious roster salary ladder. Cut a number of stagnant/declining fixtures. Replenishing shouldn't too difficult poaching the Bundesliga.
