I don't know if anyone else has noticed but Dick Stockton has been off tonight. Several times calling obvious 2-pointers, threes.....Mistaking Diener for Pat Garrity

And he'll mumble and then sometimes Sean will correct him...sometimes he won't....I know he's a legendary announcer but even legendary announcers, just like legendary athletes, need to know when to give it up

I'd rather listen to Stock make 20 mistakes than any of the other interchangable plastic PBP guys the Spurs use call a clean game.

A little later.

Nick Van X makes 1 of 2 at the freethrow line.

Dick Stockton: "Nick misses both... he made one actually."

Seriously. :lol

Still a great PBP man.

Him teamed with Sean is my favorite duo.

It's kind of hard for me to get upset about Stockton missing a few calls when people like Salvatore and Nies do so far more frequently.

I like Stockton (had to type that thoughtfully)

BTW, Joel Myers was a moron. He was caught on NBA TV during a break (in 03-04 iirc) talking about hot chicks in the stands (It was in Seattle) :lol

Stockton is done, please someone tell him to retire from basketball.

He seems to do football well though, but basketball is just too quick for him.

Bill Land is slightly better.


Shouldn't have been cheap back in the Mcombs days, and kept Dave Barnett.

Now, THAT was a play by play guy.

Him and Dietrick.

Dietrick wasnt great, but he told it like it was, and had some decent analysis.

I can still remember Barnett's calls of Elliott, Anderson, and Robinson back in the hemisfare days.

Of course he did coin the phrase in 90

Totally off-topic...I HATE the Magic logo on the floor. It looks like the court has been attacked by a gang of untalented taggers. Or like a kindergartner made it up. What's up with that?

Yeah, that was one of the worst logo updates in sports history. The old logo was just fine too. Why change it?
