It's more of a mixed bag of lack of opportunity and poor location for the demographic of women I'm seeking.

Once you're out of school (not just high school, but college) prospects dim dramatically. Potential long term dating/relationship pool peaks freshman year of college and goes down from there when people move off campus.

I don't do bars because I don't drink at all, not because I'm against it but because the taste repulses me, and drunks (not the occasional drink, but binge drinking) smoking, tats, piercings, and other lowlife shit like that do disgust me. Sports bars served their purpose in the past for watching NFL games when I didn't really have TV or internet at my place, but it's mostly guys there anyway and the ladies there are likely to be coupled and/or in groups and the singleton guy lasered in on the football game isn't exactly going to be a chick magnet. Plus, I'm kinda jaded on the NFL anyways lately.

I do do online dating (the good kind, not the swipe culture kind) but it's very hit or miss, like even in peak season which is summer between late May to early August, and it's a total luck crapshoot of who is attracted to you and who isn't, and even if you have a well written strong profile with good pictures, you won't really get picked by someone truly compatible more than around a couple times a year even if you completely do everything you can on a quality, paid dating site like Match

Entertainment venues aren't generally spots to meet compatible women... going bowling by yourself? have fun being miserable. Going to a major amusement park by yourself... or even with a guy friend? Have fun, enjoy the roller coasters, but you're not meeting single ladies there. Going to a rock concert? Jam out, bang your head around, but this isn't the 80s, you're not meeting anyone worth a damn there either. Sports? Sausage fest, but hey at least if you perform well maybe you'll gain some kind of confidence. Even joining a coed bowling league for instance is a fail generally because the probability of finding someone actually what you want is low...

Speed dating... a total bust. Literally all the guys that went to the one (I was the best dressed easily and probably the best looking guy there out of the 14 or so, but that wasn't saying a lot) didn't get any mutual matches. The women are just too shallow and too picky this generation. And again, with that few of women to choose from, there isn't likely to be someone that amazing in the first place. And this was in a better place, Michigan, not Texas, the bible thumper belt.
