Johnny "The Furph" Furphy was something like fifth in Pelton's ratings.

Of these guys McCain would be my preferred choice. Think he could be a steal for someone in the teens, but getting him at 8 might be a little rich.

if we wanted to take an upside project at 8, i'm taking Bub over Salaun any day
i dont like furph as much as mr body does but he's a viable candidates in the teens if we traded back for some reason. id also rather take furphy at 8 than salaun tbh :lol

These are the types, IMO, that you take if you secure another first rounder somehow. Either trading POR 4 for 7 + 14 or just outright trading for another pick somehow (NO 21 if they want 2nds back?)

I would take basically anyone in this draft over Salaun. We already have a mascot.

If Spurs pick non-shooters in the lottery and Furphy is still on board around the NOLA and PHX picks I could see SA jumping back in by trading up with 2-3 seconds to take Furphy around 22 to see if he can roughly assume the vacated McDermott/Osman role/duties.
I could see SA FO way higher on JaKobe Walter than most mock drafts or fanbases are. Walter has sleeper pick potential if he puts it all together. Big if.
I love McCain and think he'll be a steal around mid first if SA trades back.

If the draft goes South with the first 3 picks I would not mind doing that at all

He reminds me of a Blake Wesley who isn’t as athletic but has ten times more innate basketball skill.
So he has very little skill.

In addition to working harder than everyone else, he is due for a breakout because of the way he was utilized in college.
If he's a steal, what does it matter where he is selected? There will be chances to trade down, though.
And a factor in the Spurs' selection of Primo is that the highest rated prospects weren't working out for teams. The Spurs were not used to having a relatively high draft pick, so their selections were more dependent upon workouts. They chose from the wrong talent pool.
