Probably in that order, because Biden has the most campaign money.
Anyone else gets the Democrats killed up and down the ballot in a massive red wave 2024.
The other two only because they're competent and can probably fundraise enough to be competitive (even though the Dems will still be at a massive spending disadvantage) and they're not polarizing unlike Harris. Shapiro's speech after the shooting was actually very presidential. Whitmer probably the least but she's demonstrated two terms of competency in a purple state.
Will Hunting (https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=17032) is bullish on Tim Walz but he's relatively a no name and also good luck defending 10% state income taxes in an era where even many other Democrat governors have worked to lower state income taxes.
Harris or someone awful like Pritzker or Hillary at the top of the ticket gets the Dems killed. Also, Newsom is extremely unpopular outside of California and as for Buttigieg... the country as a whole is still way too Christian to stomach voting for an openly gay President.

Eh, I'd say more reasonably compared to Seattle being up 24-14 over the Patriots in super bowl 49. You have overcome an early deficit and now built a cushion fairly late in the game, but it's far from insurmountable and you have a well oiled machine on the other side who hasn't yet really awaken, and now your defense is undermanned.
My gut feeling is this election is going to be razor thin and Biden will remain the nominee. It's going to come down to something akin to the decision to handoff the ball to Lynch at the one yard line or not to end the game that will make all the difference.

What? Republicans have been more tuned in than ever in the Trump age. Both sides, really. Every single possible Trump voter turned out in 2020, and we all saw what happened. Trump and his camp are relying on two things to win: a similar amount of turnout on their end while apathy or a lack of likeability causes Biden or whomever's supporters to simply stay home. If the anti-trump vote is strong again, your side's toast basically no matter who (D) puts up. That's what polls didn't reflect in 2020 and likely, don't reflect now.

It's not that they're suddenly going to vote for Trump, that's unlikely to happen either, but they just won't go vote, and low turnout always helped the GOP.

Yeah, that's not happening. In an ideal world, the ticket would be Harris-Michelle Obama, which would be a landslide victory for (D) and completely devastating for Trumpworld. Losing to two black women would be the nail in the coffin. But that ticket ain't happening, tbh.

That's pure wishcasting. Unless you're running for president of Wakanda, that ticket would be a landslide for Trump-Vance in any world of reality. :lol Will Hunting (https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=17032) and other reasonable Dems would back me up on this. Ideal ticket for the Dems right now is Whitmer or Shapiro and a white moderate democrat. If they want to win more than just the deep blue states, that is. You have to capitalize on Trump being Trump by catering to moderates, not fringe progressives.

Gov. Whitmer won't accept VP job if offered: 'I'm not leaving Michigan'
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer told a local news outlet Monday that she would not accept an offer to join the 2024 Democratic ticket if it were offered.
A local news reporter with WLNS asked Whitmer if she were prepared to take the job of vice presidency alongside Vice President Kamala Harris who is now running for president.
"No. I'm not planning to go anywhere," Whitmer replied.
"I am not leaving Michigan. I am proud to be the governor of Michigan. I've been consistent. I know everyone is always suspicious...I'm not going anywhere," said Whitmer.
When pressed why it took "so long" for Whitmer to endorse Harris, who announced she would run for president after president Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday, Whitmer said she "wanted a minute" to "let the dust settle."

However, Steele was unhappy it had gotten this far.
"I think what we should be is disappointed and angry because it should never have gotten to this point in the first place," Steele said in a video posted to X. "And I don’t even mean since that debacle of a debate on June 27th when the mainstream media just magically decided to admit, ‘Wait, maybe he has some cognitive issues. Maybe he’s not fit to run for reelection. They were lying from top to bottom for years and covering up for him sadly.
"We should be so disappointed in his family, in his wife. How, as a spouse, could you allow your husband or wife to go ahead and proceed with something so big (and) so important when you know that as a human being, they are not OK? That, to me, is disgusting. That’s what I’ve been saying since I interviewed Joe Biden just a month or two after he took office. That was 3 1/2 years ago and I noticed in my interview before the conversation began that he was struggling.
