Look at the first clip. Last year Olajuwon vs Prime Duncan! Finished with 9 blocks!

Makes sense why the DR34M is the NBA's shot block leader and the DPOY award is named after him. Impressive!

That block wasn’t even close to Wemby’s annihilation of Anthony Simons shot last year.

Dream was a monster. When these idiots who trash the 90s start talking, I wonder if they ever saw this dude play.

2 best blocks of my time have been Prince chasing down Reggie and LeBron chasing down Iguodala

That Prince block shattered Miller's retirement parade. That was a game winning layup about to happen.

People trash the 90s? That was arguably the most talented the league has ever been.

I wish I could find some video but Charles Barkley has a nasty one in his younger Philly years, believe it or not. His opponent was trying to shoot a short jumper and Charles one handed grabbed it out of the air as soon as it left the guys hands

That wasn't impressive at all. Dream probably has a 1,000 blocks more impressive than that. SMDH
That was just great timing and going up at the apex of the shot. Something a great defender like Hakeem - even with two bad knees - was still capable of doing but not as consistently.
That block wasn’t even close to Wemby’s annihilation of Anthony Simons shot last year.
You meant Anfernee Simons, right? Auto correct does that with a lot of NBA players' names. And which game did that block happen in? I want to try and find the highlight of it if I can.
Nate Robinson blocking Yao Ming was way more impressive than that. And it is hardly brought up about how actually crazy it was, anymore.

MJ's ill block as a Wizard at 39 years old:

Timmy Duncan sending back Blake Griffin (not crazy but I love this block):

He measures his drive, cups the ball at its apex, and just spikes it.

I remember seeing highlights of this when I was a kid. Pretty sure it was on one of the NBA videos that showed best dunks, blocks etc. a few years later.
Does anyone know if you can go back and read Express News Articles from years ago? I wouldn't mind reading the one that went along with the game in the original post. Curious to see what Hakeem said about TD and vice versa. I'm not in the US, so I'm not sure how to read those SA Express News articles and/or if you have to pay for them (can an overseas user purchase a subscription?).
I saw a video clip on Youtube last night where Rasheed Wallace was asked who was tougher to guard between Hakeem and D-Rob and he said David Robinson was. He said a prime D-Rob had everything except a three point shot. Trying to find the video where it's from to watch what else was discussed. He also said D-Rob gave him his welcome to the NBA moment in a preseason game in Mexico city where David busted his ass. 30pts 18rbs in something like 28-30 minutes Rasheed said. He got better at guarding him when he had some experience and learned his tendencies, but yeah, he said he'd never had it handed to him like that before that preseason game.

I'm not saying it's the craziest, but I can't let a thread like this go without dropping this gem in here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ-_p6qnCnI
That old man strength. As time goes on (ESPECIALLY if Wemby stays healthy and a Spur for years), more and more folks will start saying Tim was overrated. They'll cite his lack of flash plays when they do. A highlight like this won't mean as much missing its context. But Tim blocking a Blake Griffin that was making a point of embarrassing opposing bigs is just another jewel in his crown.
