2 - B) Pop loves him some Istanbul - (and is loco for Cissoko).
If you missed his Summer League interview, (or the part when Pop wasn't anointing Cissoko as the heir apparent), it's clear he has a profound fascination with Istanbul.
(Sidy also gets a shout out in the Media Day Presser too).
In fact he sounds like he would have happily blown off watching Wemby or Team USA to head back into Turkey at a moments notice, if given the chance.
Unsurprising, Pop not setting any expectations for himself. If we suck yet again, he somehow won’t be to blame, either, of course.
That’s disappointing. Almost as disappointing as Vassell missing yet more time. His injury problems could significantly affect his career trajectory.
Still excited for the season but a lot is riding on CP3 being good at 40 and Castle being good from the get-go.

and pop can't demarre carroll him because wemby will have cp3's back / want to win also.

I’m excited about how CP3 and HB can help settle the team, make good decisions. CP3 mentioned how Spurs were at times leading but lost the game at the stretch. I think you can’t have anybody better than CP3 and HB with very high bball IQ and consummate professionals. Likewise the young core seems genuinely excited to listen to these veterans and learn from them.
Pop alluded to Timmy having the veteran team when he got in. It was crucial to Tim, and to Manu and TP’s development, to have that veteran presence, that Spurs didn’t have. I’m excited to see a more calmness, a better decision making brought by the addition of CP3 and HB come start of the season

You need a '13 to make a '14.

I was against tanking last year as I felt the draft was weak and the spurs can make a push for playin. Sort of glad we did as castle seems like an interesting prospect.
This year I’m all for tanking. Deep draft, not sure if atl will give us a high pick. But we will see.

Their pre-lottery position will be better than ours. They really have to trade Trae sometime between right now and the trade deadline. With his 2026 opt out,he’s essentially an ending contract next summer, and if ATL thought the offers were bad before, they ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Yep, he going to say that until we get legit starting quality players which we all now will have to come from the draft. And NO, one Great Unicorn player is not going to make us contenders by himself

He says his shots are different and better than last year.
I like his defensive mindset, rebounding on both sides of the court, helping out. With CP3, Tre and even Castle always on the court, Sochan should really be able to find his natural game.
